Hey Everyone! I have always said that we hear what we want to hear, or better said, we hear what we are thinking. This video demonstrates this so well that basically really did blow my mind! This is such a powerful demonstration of how our minds work, and a glimpse into our perceptions. It shows us that if we really wish to listen to someone, or what they say, we must have a clear and open mind. The moment we start having our own ideas, thoughts and feelings we can no longer hear what was really said anymore..
A couple of days ago i stumbled upon this video. It was a part of a much longer youtube video with many very silly and amusing shorts. When it started i just assumed it was some kind of trick or game.. but nevertheless i tried it. What happens is that you see two completely different words, and you choose one to focus on. Then you hear a short audio sound. What is startling is that, sure enough, whatever word you are focussing on is the word you hear! Impossible i hear you say.. Well that's what i thought, so i simply had to rewind it and try again but reading the other word. Perhaps everyone chooses the same word i figured so that is the trick. But NO, sure enough i rewinded it and played it again.. this meant that it could be no trick as i was listening to the very same clip.. and SURE ENOUGH, i when i read the other word i heard the other word that i was listening to. Absolute madness! I tried this about ten times before having a mini meltdown and then decided to download it, edit it and upload to my channel..
