This is our small sty or pig pen. As of the moment they are 20 heads in total, composing of 10 owned fatteners and 8 adopted fatteners ( @JellyVine 's piglets) they are all in their 3rd month from birth and hopefully we can sell them on the 1st-2nd week of July or next month.
These are our own fatteners, the 1st parity of our sow, Mama Pig Dos. 8 of them are males and 2 females. We will be selling all males but the 2 females will be raised to become gilt.
Meet Mama Pig Dos, she is the mother of the above mentioned 10 heads fatteners. She gave them birth last March 3, 2023. We acquired Dos from the piglets we purchased for fatteners last April last year, 2022. We raised her to become gilt and currently she is pregnant again for her 2nd parity and she is expected to give birth next month, July 27, 2023. She is from the line of Large White genes. It
Meet our 8 adopted fatteners. They are @jellyvine 's piglets, 1st parity of her sow, Swine (she will tell Swine's story herself.lol!). We are raising them to be sold soon.
Meet our 1st timer Mama Pig Pipay. Yes, she is pregnany for her 1st parity through Artificial Insimination (AI).She is in her 34th day of pregnancy.
She is from the Line of a Large White and Landrace and she is an F1 as the product.She is considered as high breed. We bought her for $125.00 more or less or Php 7,000.00 at her young age of 64 days from birth. We raised her until her gilt age for 7th months.
Tending them all, 20 heads is a part of my daily activity. Feeding them 3x a day and washing them and the whole pen 2x daily. The rest of my day will for chickens, business and family.
Farming life is getting busier day by day. We are on the starting and on the learning and adjusting process. We are experiencing hard time in every aspects but I know with God's amazing grace we will get through in His time.
