I started this crop, 8 weeks ago, in a disposable plastic pots, a good soil, in a point of treated to plant a silver spinach, I thought that at first I was not going to give me to have them in a pot, very closed but, care and good watering has already advanced a lot.
Spinach is a plant that grows best in cool or cold climates. The seeds are light brown irregular spheres, between 2-3mm in diameter. Before sowing, we must prepare our seedbed with a nutritious mix that has good drainage. There are different ways of sowing spinach, direct sowing or in seedbed.
Direct sowing, is in which small furrows are made with an approximate separation of 8-10cm between them and an approximate depth of 1.5cm. Place the seeds in the furrows with a distance of 2-3cm between seeds. The plants will grow very close together and we will be able to harvest them with scissors, obtaining "baby" spinach leaves or tender leaves, which have a more subtle flavor.
