My Bush Clearing Activity

Hello everyone,
Welcome to my blog once again and to another beautiful weekend let me use this opportunity to wish you happy Good Friday. It's a season we all christians reflect on the Dead burial and regulation of our Lord Jesus Christ.

After service I rested for some hours then I embarked on the bush clearing journey, preparing my farm land for cultivation. This was land I planted cassava last year and since I don't have much land to keep for a long time , I have to maximize this land to best profit. Already this land was one that was abandoned for many years and there was no one cultivating the land and I saw the need of utilizing it. Even after using it last year for cassava cultivation I still realized that there are a lot of mineral resources in the soil. Yeah there is a lot of growth and abundance in the soil.

Before I went to the farm I had to get my tools ready, my cut glass and rake, there were not many trees there were just grasses so I had to clear the grass and rake the grass and burn them. In case you may be wondering why farmers have to clear the bush before cultivating off cause one can not just plant crops in a farm that is full of grass. Bush clearing improves the quality of the soil, when the farm land is cleared you are directly exposing it to the sunlight which will help facilitate the breakdown of organic matter and decomposition of vegetation.when this is done the soil is enriched with the important nutrients needed. In addition to that, clearing of bush gives room for removal of invaders like weeds and always struggle nutrients with plants and thereby reduce plant growth and production.

Mitigation of Pest and Disease Risks
When a farm land is left for a long time overgrown weeds and trees can become a breeding space for pets and disease. But by clearing the bush and burning those weeds you can fight and reduce risk of pests and disease. Another one is air circulation and sunlight to penetrate.
