MY CLEANING ACTIVITY FOR THE DAY. 17/08/2024

Good day everyone.
Welcome to my post today.

Today, I want to discuss a very important topic. As nurses, there are several key practices we need to follow, and I advise all nurses to adhere to these guidelines:

  1. Medication Administration: Never administer medication to someone who is sleeping. When you start your shift, make sure to wake the patient by gently tapping them or asking them to open their eyes. This helps ensure you are not administering medication to a deceased patient or miscounting their respirations. Always obtain consent first.

  2. Post-Surgery Patients: When a new patient arrives in your ward after surgery, confirm that the patient is still breathing before taking over their care.

  3. Immunization: Do not give injections to a sleeping baby. Ask the mother to wake the baby or gently tap the baby to ensure they are awake before administering the vaccine.

  4. Traditional Remedies: Do not accept or use any traditional remedies from a patient's relatives or family, such as oils for rubbing on unconscious patients. If a patient dies while you are using these remedies, or even afterward, it could lead to serious issues and is against nursing ethics.
I engage in my daily cleaning activity and took pictures of the process which are below.

Thank you.
