Welteisbärentag - International Polar Bear Day

| Today, February 27th, 2022 is World Polar Bear Day. Ok, that's really a bit strange, but I think you should at least give some thought to these beautiful animals. The day was probably created by the animal protection organization Polar Bears International (PBI) to draw attention to the fact that the habitat for these animals is shrinking more and more due to climate change. Even if we all know that, we suppress the thought that these animals are just lose their home. If you don't hear it, it's not really true. But it is. | Heute am 27.02.2022 ist Welteisbärentag. Ok, das ist jetzt wirklich etwas kurios aber ich denke man sollte zumindest ein paar Gedanken an diese schönen Tiere verschwenden. Der Tag ist wohl von der Tierschutzorganisation Polar Bears International (PBI) ins leben gerufen worden um darauf Aufmerksam zu machen, dass durch den Klimawandel der Lebensraum für diese Tiere immer mehr schwindet. Auch wenn wir das alle Wissen, verdrängen wir den Gedanken, dass diese Tiere ihr zu Hause verlieren, einfach zu gerne. Wenn man es nicht hört, ist es schon nicht wirklich war. Das ist es aber. |

This is not only good for the polar bears, but also for our wallets. | Der PBI ruft für diesen Tag auf ein kleines Zeichen zu setzten. Einfach die Heizung an diesem Tag für wenige Stunden ein paar Grad runterdrehen und somit etwas Energie sparen. Das tut nicht nur den Eisbären gut, sondern auch unserem Geldbeutel. |

| I don't think I really need to mention here what exactly endangers the habitat of these animals. But I'll do it anyway. Global warming, melting polar ice caps and the lack of food in their ever-shrinking habitat. | Was den Lebensraum dieser Tiere genau gefährdet, brauche ich glaube ich hier nicht wirklich erwähnen. Ich tue es aber mal trotzdem. Erderwährmung, Schmelzende Polkappen und der Mangel an Nahrung in ihrem immer kleiner werdenden Lebensraum. |
