El día de hoy les hablaré sobre el picozapato, una extraña ave que más bien nos recuerda a un dinosaurio a decir verdad, y lo diré porque a pesar de ser un ave que nos recuerda a eso también tiene una pequeña vida algo diferente.
Debido a la naturaleza, estás aves solo piensan en si mismas y por decir que su apariencia da algo de miedo, debido a que estás aves verlas de cerca parecen personas disfrazas, si da un sentimiento de escalofríos.
El picozapato es un ave alta, con un rango de altura típico de 110 a 140 cm (es alto a pesar de todo ._.) y algunos especímenes que alcanzan hasta 152 cm. La longitud desde la cola hasta el pico puede variar entre 100 y 140 cm y la envergadura de las alas es de 230 a 260 cm. Se ha informado que el peso ha oscilado entre 4 y 7 kg. Un macho pesará en promedio alrededor de 5,6 kg y es más grande que una hembra típica de 4,9 kg.
Se sabe muy poco de las costumbres y orígenes de esta ave sumamente difícil de observar en su medio natural, en parte debido a que se encuentra en peligro de extinción. Existen algunos ejemplares en cautividad en varios zoológicos europeos, se localiza en África, desde Zambia a Sudán.
Pero no solo la apariencia da algo de escalofríos, si no que desde que nacen estás aves tienden a comportarse así y ¿por qué lo digo?
Resulta ser que estás aves solamente ponen dos huevos, la pareja los cuidan hasta que nacen y sepan que es momento de dejar el nido, cómo cualquier ave, pero estos al nacer tienen ese pensamiento de caza y de que el más fuerte, es que el domina la camada en este caso, pues resulta que el mayor de los pollitos mata al otro o lo deja indefenso, justo en el momento en que los padres van en busca de alimentos para los dos, al llegar su padres se quedan con uno y el otro lo apartan de su lado, debido a que son aves grandes en cierto parecer dicen que este tipo de aves tienen esa costumbre de matar ese instinto, podremos decir que también las águilas y aves de ese tamaño como lo es el picozapato llegan a tener ese tipo de mentalidad.
