How do I audit the revision history of a post or comment in Hive Blockchain? Answering in Quora

As the blockchain goes append-only & immutable, so does the Hive Blockchain. Every activity be it a monetary a transaction, or a post or a comment or a vote, etc everything is immutably recorded in the public ledger of Hive blockchain.

Any information/text that is being recorded either as a post or as a comment in Hive blockchain can be verified and audited by anyone as it is an open-source public blockchain.

We have the frontends like Hive.blog, Peakd, etc using which a user generally engages. In that process, the users do a lot of posts/comments. It may so happen that the user sometimes encountered typos and/or put additional text to the original post; so when a user edits a post/comment in the frontend, the last edited version is only displayed in the frontend.

But that does not mean that the original post or comment is erased from the blockchain. You can always check the original post/comment as well as the edited post/comment. You can see the full history of the revision of a post or comment in Hive blockchain. So the Blockchain has every record of revisions.

If you would like to audit and check the revision history, then head over to http://scribe.hivekings.com/

Paste the permalink of a comment/post(that you want to audit) in the box and click on "submit".

To explain further, I am taking the case of my comment which I have edited once.

The permalink of my comment is- @sacrosanct/re-r2cornell-q7yi3a

So now the original comment, as well as the edited comment, are being displayed along with the reference block number. You can see in my comment which letter I erased and which letter I added to make the sentence correct.
