Gone Girl

"When I think of my wife, I always think of the back of her head. I picture cracking her lovely skull, unspooling her brain, trying to get answers. The primal questions of a marriage: What are you thinking? How are you feeling? ? What have we done to each other? What will we do? "- Nick Dunne

David Fincher's famous 149-minute American Psychological Thriller begins with a quote from this dialogue at the very beginning. Released in 2014, the film is based on Gillian Flynn's 2012 novel of the same title, although director Fincher has made some changes to the original story. I know David Fincher as a very creative director, his "Seven" has perfect creativity, and Morgan Freeman has a great performance ... as well as Fincher's direction - which makes the film absolutely perfect!

Prior to its nationwide release in 2014, the film had its world premiere at the opening ceremony of the 52nd New York Film Festival, which garnered critical and commercial success overnight. Needless to say, the $ 61 million thriller genre grossed about $ 360 million at the box office, topping the list of highest-grossing movies made by Fincher. And the film ranks 140th on IMDB's Top 250 Movie List.

The opening of the movie begins with the dialogue quoted above by Ben Affleck and ends with the same scene unfolding and ending with the same dialogue. But in the middle of it, a great history will happen. The history of a psycho killer in the role of a wife!

The 149-minute film stars Ben Affleck as Nick Dunn; His wife is played by a very popular actress, Rosamund Pike, and Kim Dickens as a detective.

The incident started on the morning of Nick Dunn and his wife Amy's fifth wedding anniversary, when Nick entered the house and saw that his wife was not at home for some mysterious and unknown reason, some belongings in a room of the house were also scattered randomly. And Amy ... she's not there, she's not there! Suddenly it seems to have disappeared into the air! The investigation began shortly after the police case was filed, with Nick Dunn as the main suspect. Note that in this movie, Nick Dan is a teacher and his wife Amy is a talented writer. Nick, who is careless in his domestic and private life, is perceived by the detectives as quite uninterested in his wife, and even his failure to co-operate with the detectives in the proper investigation leads him to become one of the main suspects. More suspicions came out one by one, as well as the diary of Amy and Nicks's extramarital affair pouring ghee on the fire! Nick's avoidance of the detective-police also led to a brawl with him in the media. And this is how the main arrangement of the movie begins .. Then the story begins to take one new turn after another.

The question is, what really happened to Nick and his wife, the amazing Amy? Is Amy really kidnapped? Or murdered? Or was it just an escape from his world? And if she is murdered, then who is the murderer? Is it Nick or is there someone else behind all this? Is Nick mentally healthy? And is amazing Amy mentally well? The biggest thing is what I have written so far, how much of it is true?

If you want to know, you have to watch the movie till the end ... As long as you watch it, you can't get up without finishing it, I can give you that much certainty.

The movie may seem monotonous to those who are not accustomed to seeing David Fincher's direction. This is normal since story development is a bit slow here .. and if you have seen a Fincher movie before, you can easily overcome this monotony.

Creative directors like Fincher are rarely seen in the production of psychological thrillers. And the most interesting thing is that the scripts and stories of all the films he made were written by someone else, he never wrote them himself. He has his own construction technique that you will understand after watching the movie and Fincher maintains that technique very carefully. "Gone Girl" was no exception, once again her extraordinary handling skills proved to be visual.

Rosamund Pike as "Amazing Ammy" is the only one who deserves praise for keeping the viewer's eyes on the screen for the entire 149 minutes. She won the Golden Globe Best Actress Award for her outstanding performance in this movie.

Ben Affleck also played the role of a careless, extramarital, unattractive husband to his wife, who was very fluid and lively throughout his life.

Also, other aspects of the movie, such as clean cinematography, in this case, the cinematographer Jeff's frame lighting was quite nice. The costume design was also quite good. Editing is also good, although I think some sequences have been lengthened a little too much, which in my opinion would not have caused any significant damage if it had been done in a little less time. The application of background music was also very good.

And all in all, the movie is very enjoyable ... The director has utilized 149 minutes to play with the audience's brain!
