THERE'S A NEW SNAKE MASTER IN TOWN....

As long as he gets permission first!

This little guy is about as observant as any of our children. Since we live in an area where venomous snakes exist, we believe that snake education is important. Our children have been trained not to pick up wild snakes on their own, and if they ever see a snake, to let us know right away. They understand that some are very dangerous, and are learning to take snakes seriously. But... that doesn't mean that we will teach them to have an irrational and unwarranted fear of every snake.

Buddy-Pepper saw this nonvenomous Rough Green Snake earlier and quickly notified the rest of us. Once Mama-Pepper identified the snake as a "friendly" nonvenomous species, she then allowed him to pick it up and check it out for a minute, before we relocated it to the woods. It was on our truck trailer crawling through some things, so obviously that was not a good home for it. Anyway, here's some photos of Bugger with his wild friend. Enjoy!
