A la semana de llamarlos, los técnicos se acercaron hasta nuestra casa y el diagnóstico fue terrible, ya que el arreglo implicaría un gasto de u$s150, casi la tercera parte de lo que valía un lavarropas nuevo y verdaderamente no valía la pena realizar semejante gasto para un lavarropas cuya vida útil es muy limitada, ya que tiene más de 12 años de antigüedad.
It was there when my wife came up with the idea of searching our youtube for a video that would show how the washing machine was disassembling in order to review the parts and discover where the fault was. Luckily I found a video with a perfect explanation, and even the same model of how to perform the intervention on the battered washing machine. To give you an idea it is as if I had to undergo surgery and they entrusted that task to a butcher.
Fue allí cuando a mi esposa se le ocurrió la idea de buscar en nuestro youtube algún video que mostrara como se desarmaba el lavarropas para poder revisar las partes y poder descubrir donde estaba la falla. Por suerte encontré un video con una explicación perfecta, y hasta del mismo modelo de como debía realizar la intervención al maltrecho lavarropas. Para que se den una idea es como si tuviese que operarme y le encomendaran esa tarea a un carnicero.
After watching the video several times, I decided to get down to work. To avoid having to guess what to do when I had to put it together, after the repair I decided to take several photos and videos with my smartphone.
Después de observar en varias oportunidades el video decidí meter manos en la obra. Para no tener que andar adivinando lo que debía hacer al momento de tener que armarlo, después de la reparación decidí hacer varias fotos y videos con mi smartphone.

The task was not easy, but with a lot of will and patience I managed to repair our old washing machine that we need so much with children at home.

Una vez finalizada la tarea me quedo la enorme satisfacción de haberlo arreglado con mis propias manos, el haber ahorrado alrededor de u$s120 y me dio algo de ánimo para seguir haciendo algunos otros arreglos en casa, para lo cual no me sentía capacitado en un primer momento.
Today thanks to youtube, there are many things for which we no longer need to call technical service when a home appliance breaks. It's just a matter of doing a little research, recording everything we do in photos and videos, and above all, having time and great patience. Surely we can solve the fault with our own hands, but surely it will take us longer than someone who is used to making repairs.
Hoy gracias a youtube, hay muchas cosas para las cuales no necesitamos más llamar al servicio técnico cuando se nos rompe algún artefacto del hogar. Solo es cuestión de investigar un poco, registrar todo lo que hacemos en fotos y videos y sobre todo contar con tiempo y una gran paciencia. De seguro podamos solucionar la avería con nuestras propias manos, pero de seguro que nos insumirá más tiempo que a alguién que está acostumbrado a realizar reparaciones.
