A mí me tocó trabajar y tuve una guardia muy especial el día de ayer sábado, ya que atendí a dos pequeños que asistían por primera vez a la consulta Odontológica. Quedé impresionado con su actitud y colaboración en la consulta.
Hello hive friends, how are you? I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I had to work and I had a very special shift yesterday, Saturday, because I attended two little ones who were attending the dental office for the first time. I was impressed with their attitude and collaboration in the office.
Desde que estaba en la universidad, uno de mis mayores retos siempre ha sido la atención infantil en la consulta, ya que los niños por lo general tienen más miedo y cargan con más traumas. Afortunadamente a lo largo de mi carrera han sido pocos los niños que no se han logrado adaptar a la consulta y que he tenido que referir a un especialista en odontopediatria.
Since I was in college, one of my biggest challenges has always been the care of children in the office, since children are usually more afraid and carry more trauma. Fortunately, throughout my career, there have been few children who have not been able to adapt to the practice and I have had to refer them to a pediatric dentist.
El primero de los niños se llama Ignacio y tiene 4 añitos. Su mamá me escribió preocupada por una caries chiquita que le veía en un diente, además quería que le hiciera una consulta y una limpieza de manera preventiva. Desde que me dijo que tenía 4 años y además que nunca había ido al odontólogo, sentí un poco de preocupación, sin embargo ya se cómo actuar en esos casos y era cuestión de aplicar técnicas para lograr adaptar al niño a la consulta sin ningún problema. Para mí sorpresa cuando atendí a Ignacio, el se portó muy bien, no sé quejo, ni se movía ni nada, fue un paciente muy colaborador. Me atrevo a decir que su mamá estaba más nerviosa que el 😂 afortunadamente todo salió muy bien, pudimos solucionar el problema y además logramos que Ignacio se sintiera muy bien y ya no va a tener miedo la próxima vez que asista al odontólogo.
The first child's name is Ignacio and he is 4 years old. His mother wrote me worried about a small cavity she saw in one of his teeth and wanted me to give him a check-up and a preventive cleaning. Since she told me that he was 4 years old and that he had never been to the dentist, I felt a little worried, however I already know how to act in these cases and it was a matter of applying techniques to adapt the child to the consultation without any problem. To my surprise when I saw Ignacio, he behaved very well, he didn't complain, he didn't move or anything, he was a very cooperative patient. I dare say that his mother was more nervous than he was 😂 fortunately everything went very well, we were able to solve the problem and also we were able to make Ignacio feel very well and he will not be afraid the next time he goes to the dentist.
El segundo niño se llama Enmanuel, es mucho más grande, pero al igual que Ignacio era la primera vez que asistía a las consulta Odontológica. Para mí sorpresa y a pesar de no haber ido a consulta antes, Enmanuel estaba muy bien, hicimos un trabajo preventivo. Con el, la adaptación fue más sencilla, sin embargo me tomo el tiempo de explicarle todo los procedimientos que le haré para que el tenga una idea y también aprenda. El estaba muy contento, además me reí mucho con las ocurrencias y chistes que me contaba. Al finalizar el tratamiento, le pedí tomarnos una foto, la cuál acepto y sonrió muy efusivo como ustedes pueden apreciar.
The second child is called Enmanuel, he is much older, but like Ignacio it was the first time he attended the dental office. To my surprise and in spite of not having gone to the dentist before, Enmanuel was very well, we did preventive work. With him, the adaptation was easier, however I took the time to explain to him all the procedures that I will do so that he has an idea and also learns. He was very happy, and I laughed a lot with the jokes and witticisms he told me. At the end of the treatment, I asked him to take a picture, which he accepted and smiled very effusively as you can see.
Siempre es un gusto trabajar con niños, es algo que profesionalmente me enriquece muchísimo, además es una retroalimentación, aprendo mucho de ellos así como ellos de mi. En la noche, le escribí a los padres de Ignacio y Enmanuel para saber cómo se sentían, ellos me comentaron que muy bien y que estaban muy agradecidos y satisfechos por el trabajo, tanto así que Ignacio le dijo a su mamá que quería volver a la consulta con su Amigo Omar (Yo). Agradezco a Dios por regalarme está bonita profesión, solo quiero seguir trabajando y creciendo mucho más, para brindarles siempre lo mejor a mis pacientes, al final del día, la mejor recompensa es devolverles la sonrisa a todos ellos.
It is always a pleasure to work with children, it is something that professionally enriches me a lot, it is also a feedback, I learn a lot from them as well as they from me. In the evening, I wrote to Ignacio and Enmanuel's parents to know how they felt, they told me that they were very well and that they were very grateful and satisfied with the work, so much so that Ignacio told his mother that he wanted to return to the office with his friend Omar (me). I thank God for giving me this beautiful profession, I just want to keep working and growing much more, to always give the best to my patients, at the end of the day, the best reward is to return the smile to all of them.
