The saviour's Call

THE SAVIOUR'S CALL

Mark 2:13-17; John 3:3-7

After the fall of man in the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, God in His send the Saviour who would bring man back to fellowship with Him. Jesus was born in Bethlehem. His purpose of coming to the world is clearly stated in Matthew 1:21 thus "And she bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins".

Jesus is still seeking to save sinful children today. If you will respond to His call as the tax collector did, you will listen to those who are not ready to follow the Saviour. Be prompt in your response to the Saviour's call. He will accept you, save you from sin and its consequences and make you His disciple.

Let's divide this teaching into 3 part.

1. THE SAVIOUR'S CALL: Mark 2:13-17; Matthew 9:9-13; 11:28-30; Luke 5:27-32.

The question is; Who is the Saviour?

The Saviour is Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God.

Who are the people the Saviour is calling?

He is calling all sinful boys and girls.

What is He calling them to do?

He is calling them to come unto Him. Jesus 'says', " Come unto me,all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest " Jesus is calling all children that are heavily laden with sin. No matter how heavy or weighty your load of sin, Jesus is calling you to bring it to Him.

2. SINNERS' RESPONSE TO THE SAVIOUR'S CALL:

Mark 2:13-15; Matthew 9:9-13; Luke 5:27-29; John 3:3-7

As a sinner, you must promptly respond to the Saviour's Call and take this step now.

(I) Admit that you are a sinner, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God"(Romans 3:23)

(II) Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)

(III) Repent now "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted.."(Acts 3:19)

(IV) Confess your sins to God and ask forgiveness and cleansing of your heart. " If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness "(1 John 1:9)

(V) Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says "Behold I stand at the door, and knock. If any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me"( Revelation 3:20)

Jesus is waiting for you now, open your heart to Him to come in and be your Friend.

3. SALVATION AND ETERNAL LIFE FOR THE OBEDIENT:

John 1:12

The greatest blessing a child can receive from Christ is salvation.

Obedience to the call of the Saviour will attract to your life all the benefits that come with salvation.

1. Translation from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of light.

2. Deliverance from eternal death.

3. Record of your name in the book of life.

4. Provision of all good things that will make your life beautiful.

5. Living eternally with Jesus in heaven at last.

If you desire all these blessings, you must answer the call of the Saviour and be saved.

God bless you
