¡Y por supuesto que este año tenía que unirme al Tag Navideño de @cami.rojas! Me atrevo a decir que los tag's de Cami son casi como una tradición y en una época tan especial como la Navidad, esto es algo que no puede faltar.
Si les soy sincera, mi intención era responder las preguntas de este Tag mediante un vídeo, pero aún no me termino de acostumbrar demasiado a la idea de hablar frente a la cámara, pero tranquilos...una de las metas para este 2022 es mejorar este aspecto para ir dándole un toque distinto a mi contenido, todo es cuestión de costumbre. En fin, no haré esta introducción tan larga, ¡así que mejor iniciemos con este tag!
And of course this year I had to join the Christmas Tag of @cami.rojas! I dare say that Cami's tag's are almost like a tradition and in a time as special as Christmas, this is something that can't be missed.
To be honest, my intention was to answer the questions of this tag through a video, but I'm still not used to the idea of talking in front of the camera, but don't worry...one of the goals for this 2022 is to improve this aspect to give a different touch to my content, it's all a matter of habit. En esta Navidad extrañaré lo mismo que he extrañado en Navidades pasadas: ver a toda la familia reunida. Extrañaré poder tomarme miles de fotos con mi hermana mayor el 31 de Diciembre, extrañaré poder sorprender a mis hermanos pequeños con sus regalos del Niño Jesús, extrañaré abrazar a mi madre luego de las 12 campanadas y extrañaré beber el delicioso Ponche Crema preparado por mi abuela materna. Ese es el mal que la mayoría de los Venezolanos tiene que afrontar, sobretodo en estas fechas. Tener a tu familia viviendo en diferentes países es difícil y da un poco de nostalgia, no es lo mismo realizar una videollamada y pasar horas y horas hablando a través de una pantalla que tenerlos frente a frente.
Aun así no pierdo la esperanza de poder ver a toda mi familia reunida en una próxima Navidad. Ese es el deseo que pido todos los años y tengo la certeza de que en cualquier momento se cumplirá.
This Christmas I will miss the same thing I have missed in Christmases past: seeing the whole family together. I will miss being able to take thousands of pictures with my older sister on December 31, I will miss being able to surprise my younger siblings with their Baby Jesus presents, I will miss hugging my mother after the 12 bells and I will miss drinking the delicious Ponche Crema prepared by my maternal grandmother. Cuando pienso en Navidad siempre me viene a la mente mi hermana mayor, básicamente porque junto a ella es que he compartido los mejores momentos de esta fecha. Recuerdo una Navidad que entre ella y yo nos comimos una torta entera de casi un kilo a escondidas de nuestros familiares y, ¡cómo olvidar todas esas horas que invertíamos maquillándonos una a la otra para recibir el año nuevo de la mejor manera posible!
La última Navidad que festejamos juntas recuerdo que fuimos de viaje a la playa. Fue uno de los mejores viajes que realicé, realmente disfrutamos mucho y pudimos apreciar unos atardeceres increíbles.
When I think of Christmas, my older sister always comes to mind, basically because it is with her that I have shared the best moments of this date. I remember a Christmas when she and I ate a whole cake of almost a kilo in secret from our relatives, and how can we forget all those hours we spent making up each other to welcome the new year in the best possible way!
The last Christmas we celebrated together I remember we went on a trip to the beach. It was one of the best trips I've ever taken, we really enjoyed it and we were able to see some incredible sunsets.
A nivel personal no compartiré demasiado, pues los momentos en familia prefiero guardármelos sólo para mí. Sin embargo, desde que inició el mes, mi Blog adoptó por completo la temática Navideña y me he dedicado a compartir recetas de comidas inspiradas en esta época del año, así como también me he unido a algunas iniciativas cuyo tema principal está enfocado en la Navidad.
Todavía me quedan muchas recetas geniales por compartir, así que por lo que queda del mes mi Blog seguirá celebrando Diciembre a su manera tan particular.
On a personal level I won't share too much, as I prefer to keep family moments to myself. However, since the beginning of the month, my Blog has completely adopted the Christmas theme and I have dedicated myself to sharing recipes for meals inspired by this time of the year, as well as joining some initiatives whose main theme is focused on Christmas.
I still have many great recipes to share, so for the rest of the month my Blog will continue to celebrate December in its own unique way.
En casa siempre nos hemos tomado muy en serio la decoración para Navidad. Desde el mes Noviembre nos ocupamos de comenzar la limpieza a fondo, así como también de pintar algunas paredes y de arreglar lo que sea necesario, para ya el primero de Diciembre tener la casa completamente decorada.
Desde que tengo uso de razón, mi abuela se ha tomado muy en serio la elaboración del tradicional pesebre navideño. Ella siempre ha tenido la costumbre de elaborar pesebres grandes y llamativos, así que esta tradición me la transmitió por completo a mí. Este año no elaboramos el pesebre navideño tan llamativo como solíamos hacerlo antes, pero sin embargo quedó hermoso y ´permanecerá orgullosamente en nuestra sala hasta después de Día de Reyes.
At home we have always taken Christmas decorating very seriously. Since the month of November we have been busy cleaning the house thoroughly, as well as painting some walls and arranging whatever is necessary, so that by the first of December we can have the house completely decorated.
For as long as I can remember, my grandmother has taken very seriously the elaboration of the traditional Christmas crib. She has always had the habit of elaborating large and eye-catching nativity scenes, so she passed this tradition on to me. This year we didn't make the Christmas crib as flashy as we used to, but it was beautiful nonetheless and 'will stand proudly in our living room until after Three Kings Day.
Mi familia es un poco extraña, pues está divida en dos bandos: el bando por parte de la familia de mi madre que les gusta realizar cena navideña y el bando por parte de la familia de mi padre que simplemente se reúnen y eso es todo para ellos.
Si me preguntan, a mí realmente me gustan ambas cosas. La cena navideña siempre la he considerado como un momento muy especial y muy familiar, la verdad es que no hay nada más bonito que disfrutar de la comida más especial (y deliciosa) de todo el año en compañía de tus familiares. Y ya luego de cenar, queda la parte de sentarnos todos juntos a conversar y contar anécdotas. Pero como les comentaba, en la familia no a todos les gustan ambas cosas, por el bando de mamá la cena es lo más importante y luego de eso cada quien va por su lado, pero por parte de la familia de papá cenar en familia no es una tradición que realmente ellos tomen muy en serio y más significado tiene para ellos reunirse y compartir un rato en familia.
My family is a bit strange, as it is divided into two camps: the side on my mother's side of the family who like to do Christmas dinner and the side on my father's side of the family who just get together and that's it for them.

I have always considered Christmas dinner as a very special and very familiar moment, the truth is that there is nothing nicer than enjoying the most special (and delicious) meal of the whole year in the company of your family. But as I said, not everyone in the family likes both things, for mom's side the dinner is the most important thing and after that everyone goes their own way, but for dad's family, having dinner together is not a tradition that they really take very seriously and it has more meaning for them to get together and share some time as a family.
Nunca me cansaré de decirlo: lo que más gusta de esta época del año es la comida navideña. Yo paso todo el año deseando comerme una hallaca o un gran trozo de pan de jamón, así que cuando llega Diciembre disfruto de la comida al máximo porque luego hay que esperar un año entero para poder degustarla.
Y ni hablar de la típica torta negra, ¡qué delicia! Claro está que esto es algo que se podría degustar en cualquier otra época del año, pero no tendría la misma emoción que hacerlo en esta época.
I will never get tired of saying it: what I like most about this time of the year is the Christmas food. I spend the whole year wanting to eat a hallaca or a big piece of ham bread, so when December arrives I enjoy the food to the fullest because then you have to wait a whole year to be able to taste it.

Sonará cliché pero la palabra más Navideña para mí es hallaca y me imagino que para muchos otros Venezolanos eso es así porque, ¿qué Venezolano no asocia a la hallaca inmediatamente con la Navidad, si este es el platillo típico de estas fechas? La hallaca, para nosotros, es simplemente sinónimo de Navidad.
It may sound cliché but the most Christmas-like word for me is hallaca and I imagine that for many other Venezuelans this is so because, what Venezuelan does not associate the hallaca immediately with Christmas, if this is the typical dish of these dates? The hallaca, for us, is simply synonymous with Christmas.
La Navidad para mí comienza desde el primero de Noviembre, básicamente porque en mi familia estamos acostumbrados a organizar con tiempo todo lo que respecta a la decoración y la comida navideña. Por ejemplo, acostumbramos a comprar los ingredientes para la elaboración de las hallacas en Noviembre para así evitarnos los altos costos a medida que nos acercamos más a la Navidad.
Además, aquí en mi país algunos comercios y personas por individual comienzan a decoradas sus casas y lugares públicos desde casi comienzos de Noviembre y es por eso que este undécimo mes para mí es el inicio de la Navidad.
Christmas for me starts from the first of November, basically because in my family we are used to organize in advance everything related to Christmas decorations and food. For example, we are used to buy the ingredients for the hallacas in November to avoid the high costs as we get closer to Christmas.
Also, here in my country some businesses and individuals start decorating their homes and public places from almost the beginning of November and that is why this eleventh month for me is the beginning of Christmas.
¡Por supuesto que sí! Hay quienes están un poco en contra de los autoregalos, pero a mí esto me encanta pues es una forma de demostrar el amor que tengo hacia mí y también es una forma de consentirme y premiarme tras un año en donde me esforcé y dí lo mejor de mí para superar los obstáculos y cumplir con cada objetivo planteado.
Of course I do! There are those who are a bit against self gifts, but I love this because it is a way to show the love I have for myself and it is also a way to pamper and reward myself after a year where I made an effort and gave my best to overcome obstacles and meet each goal set.
