I made this post in August. It's about a steam train that made a stop at a village. The train is a museum train that makes trips around the country in the summertime. I took some pictures of the countryside around in addition to the train. You can see one vintage car in the pictures, too.

Here's the steam train returning from the town of Loviisa on the south coast.
(As a reminder, these pictures were taken with a DSLR for which reason they look much better when looked at on a screen larger than any handheld device.)
Now the engine is the right way and not rear first like in the morning.
That makes the driver's work easier.
The train was driven all the way from Kouvola about 70 km east of Lahti to Loviisa about 70 km south of Lahti. During the day it made a short round trip to Lapinjärvi. That was to serve those living in Loviisa and allow those coming from the north to spend a few hours in Loviisa, I guess.
Passengers getting off. There used to be a platform right here. But that was a long time ago. The passenger traffic on diesel trains stopped in the late 1960's because it was no longer profitable.
Leaving soon
In the very last car, there was a generator on board which you might have heard by listening carefully. I'm guessing it was for the lights and the cafeteria.
This is literally the busiest day of the year on this road!
You live long and prosper, too, driver!
Love that vintage car!
That's a furniture factory.
These were growing in a property lot a few hundred meters from the railway.
