La ambición es un sentimiento que todos tenemos, es un afecto que tendrá una valoración distinta según cada individuo; algunas personas manejan sus deseos con prudencia, justicia y con mucha templanza, con educación y con respeto hacia los demás y hacia ellos mismos, esos son los que saben controlar sus emociones y moderar su conducta; es por eso que ambicionar una mejor calidad de vida no está mal, trabajar muy duro por ser mejor persona, mejor profesional, mejor ciudadano es una pasión positiva que enaltece al ser humano; sin embargo, existen otras personas que no saben controlar sus emociones y su conducta se hace obsesiva cuando ambicionan algo, convierten la ambición en algo vehementemente, enfermizo y hasta peligroso, llegando hasta delinquir para obtener lo que desean, como el corrupto, que bloquea de su mente toda connotación moral o ética para obtener fortuna, fama o poder.

Ambition is a feeling that we all have, it is an affection that will have a different valuation according to each individual; some people manage their desires with prudence, justice and with much temperance, with education and with respect towards others and towards themselves, those are the ones who know how to control their emotions and moderate their behavior; that is why ambition for a better quality of life is not wrong, working very hard to be a better person, better professional, better citizen is a positive passion that exalts the human being; However, there are other people who do not know how to control their emotions and their behavior becomes obsessive when they aspire to something, they turn ambition into something vehement, unhealthy and even dangerous, even committing crimes to get what they want, such as the corrupt person, who blocks from his mind all moral or ethical connotations to obtain fortune, fame or power.

La soberbia, la avaricia, la lujuria, la ira, la gula, la envidia y la pereza son los siete pecados capitales o pasiones del alma, esas debilidades humanas han causado mucho daño en las personas, especialmente, a aquellas que "ambicionan" sin medida.
La avaricia, por ejemplo, afana a quien desea poseer mucha riqueza material, principalmente dinero, y su deseo es tan grande que no medirá las consecuencias con tal de tener fortuna. La ambición vehemente lleva a la gente débil de carácter a un abismo inexorable, donde posiblemente pierda hasta su alma; por esa razón, si sentimos mas pasión de lo debido, debemos tratar de controlarnos, pero si no lo podemos hacer, entonces es importante buscar ayuda. Es necesario ser honesto con uno mismo y sobre todo, ser auténtico para no caer en excesos pasionales o tentaciones espirituales o carnales que lleven el alma a la perdición.
Pues, ¿de qué le sirve a un hombre ganar el mundo entero y perder su alma? (Marcos 8:36)

Pride, avarice, lust, anger, gluttony, envy and sloth are the seven deadly sins or passions of the soul, these human weaknesses have caused much harm to people, especially those who "covet" without measure.
Greed, for example, afflicts those who desire to possess a lot of material wealth, mainly money, and their desire is so great that they will not measure the consequences in order to have fortune. The vehement ambition leads people of weak character to an inexorable abyss, where they may possibly lose even their soul; for that reason, if we feel more passion than we should, we should try to control ourselves, but if we cannot do it, then it is important to seek help. It is necessary to be honest with oneself and above all, to be authentic so as not to fall into passionate excesses or spiritual or carnal temptations that lead the soul to perdition.
For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul? (Mark 8:36)
