This month weather has been swinging between two extremes: very wet and very hot. We need more rain as last year drought was quite severe. Luckily it rained almost everyday last week but this week it us very hot and dry. This makes everyone wants to stay inside the house and come out to work in the garden by late afternoon. There is always a lot of work to be done as the grass and weeds grow so fast after the rain. I have been trimming branches from fruit trees. My work has been slow as I have to watch out for those big red ants.
In the evening, I would go for a short walk along the river. These hot days with clear blue sky have given us very nice sunsets. There are less people exercising along the river; I could not see any joggers as in the past. The river has turned very reddish brown and the level has risen by at least four meters. My gardener told me that a dam had bursted in China causing sudden flooding of some areas in Laos. I did see the photos of flooding in small towns along the river in Laos.
There are a few warnings on the internet about the danger of Three Gorges Dam bursting in China. That would be a major disaster for the economy and millions of people there. So, I hope that they would be able to prevent this calamity. The new dams in Laos are also liable to be broken by sudden and prolonged downpour of rain. Two new dams had broken so far three years ago. So, besides colourful sunsets, we have to watch the level of water in the river in rainy season. Life by the river is never dull.
But there are forces in nature which are beyond our understanding and control. If one believes that the earth is alive like a person, so the river has got a very special soul because the earth is very old and full of amazing sentient beings including all the minerals and rocks. The whole earth encompasses tremendous energies and life forces of all on and inside the earth. Then there are all those intangible beings and spirits living on earth though in a different dimension. All these are within the earth’s electromagnetic fields. So, it depends on how each learn to communicate with Mother Earth so that one could ask for help in times of needs. I used to be quite skillful in calling for rain clouds and for asking the wind spirit to blow dark clouds away.
Some people had ask me to share with them my magic words. That was not possible as the words have to be accompanied by a very different mind set. So, I told them to start praying and do Dana or charitable actions. Their lives seemed to have changed hugely from being indebted to people to making enough money for building their own house. I think Mother Earth’ spirit is very wise and compassionate; she would look after those who deserve the help and blessings.
ตอนนี้อากาศกำลังเป็นแบบสองขั้วและสุดโต่ง ต่อไปนี้เราคงต้องหาทางรับมือ กับความแปรปรวนแบบนี้ สัปดาห์หนึ่งฝนจะตกแทบทุกวัน พอมาอีกสัปดาห์อากาศจะร้อนแห้งและอบอ้าว เราคิดว่าที่นักวิทยาศาสตร์บางคนเตือนไว้คงกำลังจะเป็นจริง ตอนนี้เวลาไปเดินเล่นริมโขง เราสังเกตเห็นว่านํ้ามีสีแดงออกนำ้ตาล ส่วนหนึ่งเป็นเพราะฝนตกหนักมากในลาว และมีการเปิดเขื่อนปล่อยน้ำลงมาด้วย คนที่บ้านบอดว่ามีเขื่อนแตกในจีน ทำให้นํ้าท่วมหลายเมืองที่อยู่ริมนํ้าในลาว เราได้เห็นภาพน้ำท่วมในลาวมาเมื่อสัปดาห์ก่อน
เรายังไปเห็นฝรั่งเตือนว่า เขื่อนสามผาในจีนเริ่มแสดงอาการน่าเป็นห่วง เขาบอกว่าถ้าเขื่อนสามผาแตก จีนคงเจอน้ำท่วมใหญ่เกือบครึ่งประเทศ เศรษฐกิจจะไปหมดเลย เราคิดว่าถ้าเป็นอย่างนี้ลาวก็คงจะแย่เหมือนกัน ส่วนไทยนั้นคงเจอน้ำที่เขาต้องปล่อยออกจากเขื่อน เพื่อป้องกันไม่ให้เขื่อนแตกนั่นเอง เราก็หวังว่าเขาคงพยายามอย่างเต็มที่ในการป้องกันอันตรายจากเขื่อนชำรุด เราไปเดินเล่นริมน้ำก็ได้ทำสมาธิไปด้วย มีเวลาพิจารณาทบทวนความคิด และความกังวลต่างๆ แล้วก็ปล่อยวาง เราคงต้องขอให้พระแม่ธรณี และสิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์ที่ดูแลแม่น้ำ ให้ช่วยกันป้องกันไม่ให้ มนุษย์ทำร้ายธรรมชาติและความสมดุลย์ในโลกไปมากกว่านี้ และขอให้ช่วยดูแลให้พวกเราคลาดแคล้วจากภยันตรายทั้งปวงด้วยเทอญ
