Big-headed turtle (Platysternum megacephalum)
Big-headed turtle is a unique turtle in look.It names after Big-headed turtle due to it's big head.The turtle can not retreat it's head in the shell because of it having no multi-layer skins.Hence to protect itself it uses it's strong jaw.This kind of turtle also uses its powerful jaw and tail to climb trees and bushes.Under the water of river and stream it can identifies any obstacles.Human likes this species so much as a food.
But it is a matter of unfortunate that this kind of turtle is under threat of extinction.It is critically endangered due to poaching and huge range of pet trade.But we should conserve it to keep our environment safe and sound.
