About five kilometers from Los Teques, the capital of Miranda state, the accident that can be seen in the images occurs. A bus with capacity for 43 passengers in fixed seats hits the hill after sliding down a slightly steep wet road.
A unos cinco kilómetros de Los Teques, la capital del estado Miranda, ocurre el accidente que se aprecia en las imágenes. Un bus con capacidad para 43 pasajeros en asientos fijos, impacta contra el cerro, luego de deslizarse por una la carretera mojada poco empinada.
Shortly after leaving the bus terminal in downtown Los Teques, the bus headed for its destination. Upon reaching one of the slopes of the Pan-American Highway, the bus only slid down the road when the driver tried to brake, even though he was driving quite cautiously. The reason for the slip is that the tires of the bus were not for rain.
Poco después de salir de la terminal de autobuses en el centro de Los Teques, el bus tomó su rumbo hacia el lugar de destino. Al llegar a un de las pendientes de la Carretera Panamericana, el bus solo se deslizó por la carretera cuando el chofer intentó frenar, a pesar de que conducía con bastante prudencia. L razón del deslizamiento es que las llantas del bus no eran para lluvia.
The bus slid for about two hundred meters, in which the driver tried to maneuver with that colossus of 16 and a half tons (according to https://es.yutong.com/products/ZK6118HGA-LatinAmerica.shtml). However, with all the effort of the driver, the rear of the bus collided with a sedan vehicle in which the driver was injured, and he was immediately transferred to the Victorino Santaella Hospital, in downtown Los Teques.
El bus se deslizó por unos doscientos metros, en los que el chofer intentó maniobrar con aquel coloso de 16 toneladas y media (según https://es.yutong.com/products/ZK6118HGA-LatinAmerica.shtml). Sin embargo, con todo el esfuerzo del chofer, la parte trasera del bus colisionó con un vehículo sedán en el que el chofer resultó herido, y fue trasladado de inmediato al Hospital Victorino Santaella, en el centro de Los Teques.
In the midst of the commotion, most of the passengers were scared, however, they were able to remain calm and take the necessary steps. In this case, call the bus station, since the corresponding line is from the government, so they would take care of all the necessary steps. In this regard, I only went to help some passengers who were a little restless, to make a written statement of the facts, which all passengers signed and delivered to the driver of the transport unit; and to leave a photographic file of the incident that occurred, in order to support the innocence of the driver.
En medio de la conmoción, la mayoría de los pasajeros estaban asustados, sin embargo, se pudo mantener la calma y hacer las gestiones necesarias. En este caso, llamar a la central de autobuses, en vista de que la línea correspondiente es del gobierno, por lo que ellos se encargarían de hacer todas las gestiones necesarias. A este respecto, solo me remití a ayudar a algunos pasajeros que estaban un poco inquietos, a hacer una declaración escrita delos hechos, la cual firmamos todos los pasajeros y se la entregamos al conductor de la unidad de transporte; y a dejar archivo fotográfico del incidente ocurrido, con el propósito de respaldar la inocencia del chofer.
