I think everyone can make simple mobile/pc games easily.
this is my story with programming
i always wanted to make my own game even if i was not gonna publish it but just looking at a character move by MY coding is just amazing
so after 1 WHOLE year of liking the idea of programming games i started doing some research since i wanted to create a game but i wanted it to be the following:
1- Average to easy
2- has a good and user friendly GUI for designing the game
and i found these in Unity
your needs may differ but that is just my case
so i started learning about the code that unity uses to create game and it was called c#
so i started downloading e-books about C# but what i didnt notice that these books do not have the same commands in Unity or codes
but they have the same basics...For example:
I knew from the books that every code ends with a semicolon but had no idea about codes like GameObject.SetActive,transform.position,ETC.....
i did not know that these codes where for unity and that these books had another variant of c#
so i started Searching for videos on Youtube and of course at first i kept copying their code not knowing what iam doing But after a while of doing that and after 3 months of doing nothing but watching unity videos and doing simple games i made my first simple 2d
it was just a guy with guns fighting AI Agents and upgrading guns Unlocking levels...
after programming it and seeing the game work together fine was just a great feeling
but not only i created a simple game but i could make most of coding without watching any videos so i also got alot of knowledge about programming just in 3 Months
now 1.5 years in
i feel comfortable doing a game without opening a video
I also did a little challenge where i have to make a complete mobile 2d game in 12 hours and making it was pretty easy and enjoyable
so in conclusion you might feel lost and not knowing what to do but after a while you will get the hold of it
just do not stop because you dont know how to code
keep copying code from others until slowly you will know exactly what every code is used for
