Hola amigos de Hive, de Sound Music y de Liketu, iniciamos la semana con más música de "Mi Colección Musical". El rock y el metal, se tomaron desde inicios del 2000 las carteleras musicales del mundo sacando a la luz grandes y legendarias producciones discográficas de la mano de bandas que han trascendido en la fama y que todavía en su mayoría, se mantienen en la escena musical.
Hoy es el turno de otra increíble banda que desde 1995 aproximadamente rockeaba en los escenarios del punk underground emergente californiano, les hablo de AFI (A Fire Inside). Estos chicos que todavía sacan grandes discos pero enfocados al mercado alternativo, lograron sacudir al mundo con su música luego del éxito rotundo de su 6to álbum de estudio llamado "Sing The Sorrow" lanzado en el año 2003; un disco que estuvo en Mtv durante mucho tiempo por sus grandes sencillos y que puso a la banda en el ojo del mundo.
Pero bien, hablaremos del siguiente disco, del 7mo álbum, llamado "December Underground" que es el que les presento en las fotos. Esta producción cuenta con 12 canciones brutales de las cuales se desprenden 2 sencillos: "Miss Murder" y "Love Like Winter".. sin embargo el disco que yo tengo trae un bonus track muy bueno llamado "Rabbits Are Roadkill on Rt. 37" que tengo entendido que solo se lanzó para algunos países y que trae una especie de postal que consta de una foto de la banda completa en blanco y negro.... es la que pueden apreciar en una de las imagenes al lado del cancionero.
En este disco la banda consiguió afianzar mucho más su búsqueda de ser más melódicos a todo nivel y también de abrirse a la vertiente del rock alternativo para poder tener un mayor alcance y atraer a nuevos seguidores, y vaya que lo lograron porque este disco fue un éxito en ventas en todo el mundo. Con este disco la banda logró una imagen estética importante ya que mezclaban un poco el look emo-punk del disco anterior con lo gótico, algo que les resultó bien visualmente para el arte del disco, para los videos y para las presentaciones en vivo.
Los 2 sencillos promocionales son lo máximo, no obstante, el disco completo es maravilloso y hay una canción en especial que no me canso de escuchar y que la tengo sonando mientras escribo estos párrafos jeje, se llama "The Killing Lights", la cual pienso hacerle cover de guitarra para traerla en algún momento a Hive.
AFI es una banda que recomiendo incluso a quienes quieran iniciar su aventura en el rock, porque saben adaptarse a las tendencias musicales sin perder su esencia y siempre suenan genial. Ellos han pasado del punk más crudo y ruidoso que existe, al rock alternativo con arreglos electrónicos muy bien hechos; sus canciones han sido parte de videojuegos y películas y cabe destacar que su vocalista, Davey Havok es diseñador de modas y posee una marca de ropa también, además que es promotor del veganismo y la vida saludable; otro dato curioso es que en su juventud inició estudios de psicología pero no los terminó. Por otro lado Jade Puget, el guitarrista de la banda, es el que compone la mayoría (por no decir todas) de las canciones de AFI, en lo personal me parece un gran guitarrista, me gusta mucho su forma de tocar y de hacer música.
Me quedo un poco corto con lo que se puede decir de esta banda, su sonido es único, son fáciles de identificar luego de que los escuchas; la carrera de ellos ha sido muy ejemplar y también le ha abierto las puertas a nuevas bandas que buscan un sonido similar. Espero que en algún momento los puedas escuchar y si ya los conoces, me darás la razón de que son de los mejores 🔥🔥🔥... The rock and metal, took since the early 2000s the musical billboards of the world bringing to light great and legendary record productions of the hand of bands that have transcended in fame and still mostly remain in the music scene.
Today it's the turn of another incredible band that has been rocking the Californian underground punk scene since 1995, I'm talking about AFI (A Fire Inside). These guys who still release great albums but focused on the alternative market, managed to shake the world with their music after the resounding success of their 6th studio album called "Sing The Sorrow" released in 2003; an album that was on Mtv for a long time for its great singles and that put the band in the eye of the world.
But well, we will talk about the next album, the 7th album, called "December Underground" which is the one I present to you in the pictures. This production has 12 brutal songs of which 2 singles are released: "Miss Murder" and "Love Like Winter"... however the album I have has a very good bonus track called "Rabbits Are Roadkill on Rt. 37" that I understand it was only released for some countries and that it brings a kind of postcard that consists of a photo of the complete band in black and white... it is the one that you can appreciate next to the songbook.
In this album the band managed to consolidate much more their search to be more melodic at all levels and also to open up to the alternative rock side in order to have a greater reach and attract new followers, and they did it because this album was a success in sales all over the world. With this album the band achieved an important aesthetic image as they mixed the emo-punk look of the previous album with the gothic, something that worked well for them visually for the album artwork, videos and live performances.
The 2 promotional singles are amazing, but the whole album is wonderful and there is one song in particular that I never get tired of listening to and I have it playing while I write these paragraphs hehe, it's called "The Killing Lights", which I plan to cover on guitar to bring it at some point to Hive.
AFI is a band that I recommend even to those who want to start their adventure in rock, because they know how to adapt to musical trends without losing their essence and they always sound great. They have gone from the rawest and noisiest punk that exists, to alternative rock with very well done electronic arrangements; their songs have been part of video games and movies and it is worth mentioning that their vocalist, Davey Havok is a fashion designer and owns a clothing brand as well, besides being a promoter of veganism and healthy living; another curious fact is that in his youth he began studying psychology but did not finish it. On the other hand Jade Puget, the guitarist of the band, is the one who composes most (if not all) of the songs of AFI, personally I think he is a great guitarist, I really like his way of playing and making music.
I am a little short with what can be said about this band, their sound is unique, they are easy to identify after you listen to them; their career has been very exemplary and has also opened the doors to new bands that are looking for a similar sound. I hope that at some point you will be able to listen to them and if you already know them, you will give me the reason that they are one of the best 🔥🔥🔥...
