My Home... my safe place [Eng/Esp]

"Many times we look outside for what we have at home ", this is something we hear over and over again but apparently we have to keep repeating it because we keep looking for peace and great experiences away from the walls of our home. But I think it depends on each person.

In my case I have always really enjoyed being at home and the fun outings are very occasional, and although my blog might make you think I go out a lot, they are not for recreation or in search of something, but for very specific things like personal errands or the children's activities. But I really enjoy being at home.

Home is my safe place, and I started to feel that way with the Covid panademy. It was the only place where I felt completely safe and it was a time that although difficult in every way I took great advantage of sharing with my family within the four walls of our home, which little by little over time I have added little things that make me happy just to see them.

They are not big things, nor are they a big investment of money, but they are an investment of time and maintenance.

Among the oldest is the wall that leads to my kitchen. I just love it! Every word was done by me, either printed on magazine pages, cut out and glued to the wall or hand painted with words alluding to food.

On the other side is a small table that I long ago covered with printed napkins. Each image was searched and downloaded by me, then printed and pasted one by one, and today it is more beautiful with some decorations like an antique clock and one of my precious succulents.

And one of the new acquisitions would be my bunny Brownie's little house, which besides serving as his home, has been a great place to put some of my books and of course more decorations and small cacti and succulents.

Another detail that I really love is a simple curtain that has prints of newspaper sheets, which remains open right in the middle leaving the little house of the stuffed animal of the house in view. I really don't know what makes it special but I love walking down the hallway and seeing it.

And last but not least my new babies! My little garden of succulents and cactus that give life to a little corner of my home. They are the ideal plants for me as they don't require a lot of care, in fact they need little watering and some sun. That's all!

As you can see, I don't need much to be happy. Just walking around my house and seeing all the things I love is more than enough!

"Muchas veces buscamos fuera lo que tenemos en casa", esto es algo que escuchamos una y otra vez pero aparentemente hay que seguir repitiéndolo porque seguimos buscando paz y grandes experiencias lejos de las paredes de nuestro hogar. Pero creo que depende de cada quien.

En mi caso realmente siempre me ha gustado estar en casa y las salidas por diversión son muy ocasionales, y aunque por mi blog pueden creer que salgo mucho, son salidas no para esparcimiento o en busca de algo, sino para cosas muy puntuales como diligencias personales o las actividades de los niños. Pero realmente disfruto estar en mi casa.

Mi hogar es mi lugar seguro, y así lo empecé a sentir con la panademia del Covid. Era el único lugar donde me sentía completamente a salvo y fue un tiempo que aunque difícil en todo sentido aproveché muchísimo para compartir con mi familia dentro de las cuatro paredes de nuestro hogar, que poquito a poquito a través del tiempo he añadido cositas que me hacen feliz sólo de verlas.

No son grandes cosas, ni tampoco constituyen gran inversión de dinero, pero sí de tiempo y mantenimiento.

Entre las más viejas se encuentra la pared que conduce a mi cocina. Simplemente la amo! Cada palabra fue hecha por mí, bien sea impresa en hojas de revista, recortadas y pegadas a la pared o pintadas a mano con palabras alusivas a la comida.

Por otro lado se encuentra una mesita que hace mucho tiempo cubrí con servilletas impresas. Cada imagen fue buscada y descargada por mí, para luego ser impresa y pegada una por una, y hoy se encuentra más bella con algunas decoraciones como un reloj antiguo y una de mis preciosas suculentas.

Y una de las nuevas adquisiciones sería la casita de mi conejito Brownie, que además de servir como su hogar, ha sido un lugar excelente para colocar algunos de mis libros y por supuesto más decoraciones y pequeños cactus y suculentas.

Otro detalle que realmente me encanta es una simple cortina que tiene impresiones de hojas de periódico, que permanece abierta justo a la mitad dejando a la vista la casita del peluche de la casa. La verdad no sé qué la hace especial pero me encanta caminar por el pasillo y verla.

Y por último pero no menos importante mis nuevos bebés! Mi pequeñito jardín de suculentas y cactus que le dan vida a un rinconcito de mi hogar. Son las plantas ideales para mi pues no requieren de muchos cuidados, de hecho necesitan poco riego y algo de sol. Es todo!

Como pueden ver, no necesito gran cosa para ser feliz. El sólo hecho de caminar por mi casa y ver todas las cosas que amo es más que suficiente!
