Today is my grandmother’s birthday. Everyone on my mother’s side is present, even the ones from Bukidnon and Villanueva. All of them are present, except us. We’ve been calling them nonstop ever since my mom went home to our grandmother’s house in Kinoguitan but every time we talk, it’s always a short one. Especially today, and quite honestly, we all felt left out. Not to mention the longing we’ve been trying to suppress ever since the pandemic.
So, to make up for the unwanted feelings (obviously, longing and jealousy), me and my sisters I, as well as our dog, went out to eat dinner. As usual, we went to Sugbo, Mercado, IT Park where we eat sea foods (shrimps and scallops), baby back ribs, and barbeque for bullet. We went there pretty much earlier than we used to, so when we get there were still a lot of vacant seats inside. After eating, we decided to relax at the park where bullet met a lot of new dog friends. All of them were very friendly toward bullet, but when bullet spotted a husky dog, he went all out and got angry with him! We were all kind of startled so we kept saying sorry to the owner of the husky.
Anyway, after a few minutes, we got hungry again so we went inside Sugbo Mercado (again) to buy some snacks. We left my youngest sister to play with bullet in the park and when we got back, bullet was sprinting toward us because he thought we bought food for him too. Unfortunately for him, we didn’t. Lol
All in all, my day went pretty much great today. At least for a few hours, we forgot the longing and jealousy we’d felt for the past few days. I realize that there’s nothing we can do about it but at the same time I am thankful that I am not feeling it all on my own. I have my sisters to share the same feelings with me.
That is why, for everyone who’s longing for someone that felt like home today, I hope the world is a little bit kinder to you.
PS: My sprained ankle is not totally healed yet, and I trip on my foot again on our way home. Lmao
