Rain Didn't Hamper Today's Easter Egg Hunt!
Melbourne weather is an odd beast from scorching hot weather to as if a switch has been flicked and now it is frosty mornings and drizzling rain. But that wasn't enough to keep the local neighbourhood kids at bay for an early Easter Egg hunt hosted by our local member Natalie Hutchins. Our local park has become an iconic place for everyone to meet and connect while also enabling kids time to play and burn off energy.
Today, we scattered chocolate eggs amongst the garden and unleashed the kids to go and find as many as they could. Despite the rain the kids were all cyclinders firing as they went in search for the chocolate eggs. While also having fun egg spoon races although we didn't use real eggs (those things are expensive these days) they were replaced with plastic eggs which were much lighter and presented more of a challenge for the kids as the wind easily blew them off the spoon.
The event went for a few hours with lots of laughter and plenty of coffee for the adults also and of course I delved into my kids collection and enjoyed some eggs myself. I am a sucker for chocolate easter eggs :)
The event was a great success and many people raised the state of the roads and infrastructure in the area so hopefully we can get some good outcomes!
