About the Quote
Fear is best handled by puting it behind us. First we face it, then we confront it, then we put it bahind us. The best way to put fear behind us to is defeat it, and we do that by putting ouseselves over and above it.
When we do that, we prove to ourselves that we are greater than that fear. This lets us put fear in its proper place. Most importantly, it shows us that that fear no longer has power over us.
Some (More) Information about Nadia Comăneci
Prior to the end of the Cold War in 1991, Nadia Comăneci defected from Romania to the United States in 1989. In 1993 she became the 2nd person inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame, following Olga Korbut. In 1996 she married Bart Conner, a member of the 1984 US Olympic team; together they worked to promote gymnastics wherever they went. She became a US citizen in 2001.
In other activities, Nadia Comăneci authored and published two books. Her first book was her autobiography, titled Nadia (1981). Her second book was a guide written from the perspective of a mentor to poeple following in her footsteps; this book is titled Letters to a Young Gymnast (2003).
