About the Quote
We all want to be inspired when there is something we need to get done. The problem with this is that inspiration is fleeting. Some days we don't feel like getting out of bed, never mind doing something which must be done whether we feel the spirit moes us or not.
This is why habits are important: They let us do things when inspiration is lacking. Habits need to be formed, and the forming of habits takes time (usually 21 consecutive days). Once habits are formed, then we do things automatically (if not on autopilot).
In many ways, inspiration is like height: you don't teach that, and either you have it or you don't. Not everyone is blessed with above-average height for sports such as basketball, or even below-average height for a sport such as horse racing. However, we're all blessed with the ability to develop, cultivate, and instill required habits which will carry into whatever activities which involve us.
