In a previous post I commented about my decision to move to Havana; well, I did it. I traveled yesterday with only one destination: Havana. So I took the bus yesterday, of course with some complications due to the economy of the country. My bus was supposed to leave at 10pm, but there were some complications, so we ended up leaving Santiago City at 1:00 am, so yeah, pretty late.
The trip felt like I was a whole week on the road. Entering the city of Matanzas, it rained so much that we had to stop. It really was an exhausting trip; however, we got to our destination at 8pm on May 28th. So yeah, I'm officially in Havana City not just to enjoy a bit but, more importantly, to work and search for better job opportunities.
It's really hard being away from my husband for so long. I miss him every second, but this is for the best of us as a marriage. Anyway, if everything goes well, we'll be reunited soon. It is sad being away from your friends and everything you know, but life in Cuba is hard, so one has to search for opportunities to improve your life and your family'swell well-being, even if that means being apart for some time.
So hivers of Havana, here I am to stay. As goes the saying, "I hope for the best and prepare for the worst". I'm looking forward to having a good experience. I have a lot of friends and family here, so I'm not alone; I have good people to rely on.
