Uno de los géneros cinematográficos al que más respeto le tengo es al Documental, así sea un falso documental este género requiere de muchísima dedicación, investigación, esfuerzo pero sobre todo de presupuesto y tiempo; no es un género que todo el mundo sepa o pueda hacer y por eso le he huido un poco durante los años pero hay oportunidades en la vida dónde ni el miedo, las dudas o inseguridades deben detenerte y esta fue una.
Una amiga de danza me pidió el apoyo con su proyecto final, ella y su grupo quieren documentar La Historia de la Danza en Venezuela; el proyecto me parece increíble pero hay que ser realistas, hacer la investigación a nivel nacional requiere muchísimo tiempo, dinero y equipos que lamentablemente no tenemos así que de lo macro hay que llevarlo a lo micro así que después de una larga charla explicando la lista de los porqués no se puede hacer a nivel nacional, acordamos centrarnos en Bellas Artes, lugar dónde queda nuestra sede de UNEARTE.
One of the film genres that I respect the most is the Documentary, even if it is a fake documentary this genre requires a lot of dedication, research, effort but above all budget and time; it is not a genre that everyone knows or can do and that's why I have fled a little over the years but there are opportunities in life where neither fear, doubts or insecurities should stop you and this was one of them.
A dance friend of mine asked me to help her with her final project, she and her group want to document The History of Dance in Venezuela; the project seems incredible to me but we have to be realistic, doing research at a national level requires a lot of time, money and equipment that unfortunately we don't have, so after a long talk explaining the list of reasons why it can't be done at a national level, we agreed to focus on Bellas Artes, where our UNEARTE headquarters is located.
Las muchachas de Danza tenía ya la idea del proyecto estructurada pero ellas no saben nada de Audiovisuales así que tuve que llamar a mi equipo como a otras personas de confianza para que me apoyaran; ha sido un trabajo complicado tanto por la poca disponibilidad que tenemos muchos como por temas de tiempo debido a que ya casi se acaba este semestre, así que tenemos los días contados.
Por suerte, el equipo que conformé es bastante responsable y dedicado así que hemos podido adelantar muchísimo en pocos días; hasta ahora hemos tenido dos días de rodaje y hemos logrado registrar 2 de las 4 entrevistas que se presentaran en el documental.
The girls from the Dance class already had the idea of the project structured but they don't know anything about Audiovisuals so I had to call my team and other trusted people to support me; it has been a complicated job both because of the little availability that many of us have and because of time issues due to the fact that this semester is almost over, so our days are numbered.
Luckily, the team I formed is very responsible and dedicated so we have been able to make a lot of progress in a few days; so far we have had two days of shooting and we have managed to record 2 of the 4 interviews that will be presented in the documentary.
Como fui el enlace entre las muchachas de danza y el equipo de audiovisuales, tomé el rol de Dirección General junto a mi profesor Jose, admito que me tenía demasiado nerviosa e insegura debido a que nunca había dirigido un equipo tan grande pero todos me han apoyado en esta tarea tan importante y eso ha hecho el trabajo menos pesado.
Ha sido una experiencia muy nutritiva, he aprendido muchas cosas como he derrumbado prejuicios que tenía sobre mí misma gracias a este rodaje; todavía falta mucho por terminar y después del rodaje viene lo más complicado que es el Montaje y la Postproducción, por suerte será un trabajo que llevaremos Jose y yo así que eso me tiene más tranquila.
As I was the link between the dance girls and the audiovisual team, I took the role of General Direction with my teacher Jose, I admit that I was too nervous and insecure because I had never directed such a big team but everyone has supported me in this important task and that has made the work less heavy.
It has been a very nourishing experience, I have learned a lot of things and I have demolished prejudices that I had about myself thanks to this shooting; there is still a lot to finish and after the shooting comes the most complicated part which is the Editing and Postproduction, luckily it will be a job that Jose and I will do, so that makes me feel calmer.
Espero terminar este Documental a tiempo, sin más inconvenientes y que cumpla las expectativas que las chicas de Danza tienen; estoy orgullosa de haber aceptado este reto porque ha sido muy beneficioso en muchos sentidos.

I hope to finish this Documentary on time, without any more inconveniences and that it meets the expectations that the Dance girls have; I'm proud to have accepted this challenge because it has been very beneficial in many ways.
