She wanted to become a cop but lots of what ifs... Blah... blah... blaaahhh...
"Dream Killer" she knew them to be...
She became so sad and confused...
And she almost lost it...
But she turned around, became feisty and fought hard with the enemies.
She won, became a police officer and now dates a fellow cop who loves coffee just like she does, lol!
"Dream killers win... only if you let them in."
On visiting my sister in the city sometime last year, I noticed my niece (9) so quiet on her desk. I knew she was drawing as she usually does when she's not playing around outside. True enough, checking on her after a while, she had plenty of doodles mostly fun, cute dogs, pretty girls and these ones.
On one page of her notebook, she wrote "Dream Killer" then the following pages were filled with something quite ferocious. I omitted to include several of her them 'coz they were quite brutal. But they do say a lot. Young as she is, she seems to have understood that many things (including people) around can dissuade one from pursuing a dream or a goal.
Doubts, fears, insecurity, past failures, other people's chatters, indecision, procrastination, excuses and what else?
Personally, my own challenges come NOT from other people (for I have at least learned to not listen) but from my own self. Sometimes when I start to become undecided, I'd most likely give in to Mr. P (procrastination) then doubts lurk behind him and I'd find myself wondering whether to do this or maybe that instead? Before I know it, hours have gone and nothing's been accomplished.
A continuing battle but glad that when days like that kick in, I still find the strength to fight it out and at least win.
So let's keep pushin', yeah?
