Hi Friends,

Any person/community/game or anything for that matter, to grow, needs constant support whether it is monetary support or support in the form of providing the required items in order to start the work/business.

Splinterlands is not different from anything I explained above as the growth of any new player on this gaming platform is to get support from existing players in the form of tips on playing the game or delegating some cards to start with or delegating any other things like SPS to start earning rewards from the game in the form of Glint token or it might also be in the form of setting up an account and allowing a new player to play with.

Wow!!! there are so many things an established player can do to help newcomers and here I got with details of these things as part of this week's Community Engagement Challenge in the form of this week's topic of Scholarship Best Practices as part of support articles.

So, here we go with details of these different options of scholarships and do's and don'ts we have to have in order to maintain the smooth working of the scholarships.

1. Delegation of Cards/SPS:

For someone to start playing Splinterlands games/battles, most important thing is to guide the new players on the game like how to play, what are different rulesets and what are the different abilities we have in the games for each of the cards and how to create strategy.

If someone knows about these things, then One can start playing the battles in the form of ranked battles to start earning the rewards in the form of Glint tokens (required for earning the rewards cards) or SPS for winning the battle.

But, yes, there is another important thing that is, to have some basic cards to start playing and also to have some SPS staked in order to earn the rewards as staking will increase the Boost points which are essential in earning the rewards.

Hence, it's very much important that, the main part of the Scholarship program will be to enable a new player to have the cards to play and staked SPS to earn rewards

Do's and Don'ts:

Frankly speaking, the manager will have full control of the delegations as the cards and SPS will still be owned by the manager, so there will be no don'ts here, but as a manager, we can always review whether the sponsored new player is making good progress or need any handholding if he is having any issues, are the cards delegated to him are earning him fair amount of rewards or does he need some other cards to have a better experience and better rewards.

Letting out an account to play and earn:

This is another form of sponsoring with scholarship, where, the account is setup with valid cards and some staked SPS as well for someone start playing.

This is a different set of letting out and needs the manager to provide the user with user name and passwords for the account to be played.

There will be some additional guidance to be provided by manager and few extra diligence steps to be taken care by the new player in order to protect the account from hacking.

Do's and Dont's:

The manager need to ensure the new user is provided with posting key only in order to avoid the misuse of the account like transferring the assets, selling of assets etc.

With the posting key only enabled to play the game and combine the cards, it's impossible to transfer or sell the assets and hence, keeps integrity of the account

And for the person who is getting scholarship, he needs to be abided to the manager and not to misuse the account and to keep the assets intact.

If the person who is getting sponsored is trustworthy, like a relative, sibling, parent or a good friend who is trustworthy, then it's up to the manager to share the other keys if required, but it's at manager's own risk.

Enabling the new player to earn and invest in the game:

This is I think is One of the most important form of handholding a new player.

So, what I am planning to convey with this is that, we can always provide a new player with cards and SPS delegation, but the earnings from that will be either split between manager and sponsored player or sponsored player can keep all the rewards, but still the earnings will be very less.

Along with this, if we enable the new player to let him earn some Hive, then he can always have some extra income and re-invest that in the game to grow faster.

So, what I wanted to convey is to teach the new player to write blogs on the game as we have 2 challenges every week in the form of social media challenge and community engagement challenge and to add to that, there is an additional challenge about art work on splinterlands.

So, if a new player is able to spend few hours a day on blogging along with playing games, he can earn some extra hive from blogging and use it buying SPS or cards or packs and grow faster.

I have been trying to emphasize on this point to some of the relatives (infact my son, my cousin and a person who is my tenant) to work on this point and I see them posting blogs these days and earning some Hive to enable them purchasing the SPS and stake it to earn better rewards and I see they started on that and are happy customers as they slowly writing the blogs now and earn some extra Crypto and investing it back in game and I am always there to help them with the transactions of converting HBD to Hive and then to SPS and getting the same to their account.

So, those are some of the points I wanted to discuss as part of this Scholarship thing and it's a satisfactory thing to see the people growing and earning rewards and also writing blogs to earn extra rewards!!!

Thanks, have a great week ahead :)
