If you are a fan of Queen, and in particular of Freddie Mercury, I suggest you see the biopic starring Rami Malek in the role of the lead singer of the English band that revolutionized music between the 70s and 80s, still leaving an incredible testament to Queen's timeless music.
Playing the role of one of the most famous singers in the world is certainly not easy, the chances of disappointing the millions of fans are very high, above all imitating an eccentric character like Freddy was not a walk in the park. The result, in my opinion, is really excellent, and the choice of keeping Freddy's original voice during the singing parts is certainly very pertinent: after all, how would it have been possible to sing his songs with a different voice? The biopic would have been very unbelievable.
Even the choice of band members was very apt aesthetically, perhaps the actor who plays John Deacon is the one who least resembles him. But one cannot be lucky enough to have identical copies of the musicians. The overall effect is very realistic and the skill of the actors certainly reduces the differences with reality.
I personally saw the movie at the cinema, I left the room with tears in my eyes from the emotion, a symptom of how much the film has shaken the emotions within me, and within a large part of the audience, who had the same reactions as me.
Some critics have contested the actor's attitude a bit in his interpretation, denouncing a too exhibitionist Freddy Mercury in his private life, especially during the parties with the excess that is certainly glaring. But the band members themselves, advisers during the filming of the biopic, have repeatedly confirmed everything that the film puts under the magnifying glass.
I admit that at first it is a bit strange to see Freddy Mercury played by an actor, but as the minutes went by, the actor's skill and Queen's music made me forget everything else.
My rating remains very high, and I continue to recommend it to all my friends, Queen lovers or not. I am sure that after watching the film, you will still be pleasantly surprised.

Se sei un fan dei Queen, ed in particolar modo di Freddie Mercury, ti consiglio di vedere il biopic che ha cone protagonista Rami Malek nel ruolo del cantante della band inglese che ha rivoluzionato la musica tra gli anni 70 e 80, lasciando tutt'oggi un'incredibile testimonianza della musica intramontabile dei Queen.
Recitare il ruolo di uno tra i cantanti più famosi del mondo non è di certo semplice, le possibilità di deludere i milioni di fans sono elevatissime, soprattutto imitare un personaggio eccentrico come Freddy non è stata una passeggiata. Il risultato, secondo il mio giudizio, è davvero eccellente, e la scelta di mantenere la voce originale di Freddy durante le parti cantate è certamente molto pertinente: d'altronde come sarebbe stato possibile cantare le sue canzoni con una voce differente? Il biopic sarebbe stato davvero poco credibile.
Anche la scelta dei membri della band è stata molto azzeccata esteticamente, forse l'attore che interpreta John Deacon è quello che meno gli assomiglia. Ma non si può avere la fortuna di avere copie identiche dei musicisti. L'effetto nel complesso è molto realistico e la bravura degli attori di certo assottiglia le differenze con la realtà.
Personalmente ho visto il movie al cinema, sono uscito dalla sala con le lacrime agli occhi per l'emozione, sintomo di quanto la pellicola abbia scosso le emozioni dentro me, e dentro gran parte del pubblico, il quale ha avuto le mie stesse reazioni.
Alcune critiche hanno contestato un po' l'atteggiamento dell'attore nella sua interpretazione, denunciando un Freddy Mercury troppo esibizionista nella sua vita privata, soprattutto durante le feste con l'eccesso che è certamente lampante. Ma gli stessi membri della band, consiglieri durante le riprese del biopic, hanno più volte confermato tutto ciò che il film pone sotto la lente d'ingrandimento.
Ammetto che all'inizio è un po' strano vedere Freddy Mercury impersonato da un attore, ma con il trascorrere dei minuti la bravura dell'attore e la musica dei Queen mi ha fatto dimenticare tutto il resto.
Il mio voto resta molto alto, e continuo a consigliarlo a tutti i miei amici, amanti o nok dei Queen. Sono certo che dopo la visione del film, ne sarete comunque piacevolmente sorpresi.
