Qualche giorno fa ho pubblicato un pezzo sulle primarie americane del partito repubblicano.
Nell'ipotesi sciagurata, ma possibile, che il prossimo presidente statunitense sia di nuovo Trump piuttosto che di nuovo Biden quale differenza ci potra' essere per l'Europa e per Cuba?
I repubblicani, in genere sono piu' isolazionisti, “Prima l'America”e' il loro credo, di conseguenza se dovesse vincere Trump, per l'Europa potrebbero esserci meno ingerenze rispetto a questi ultimi 4 anni.
Trump del resto del mondo se ne fotte, non e' un caso che sia stato il solo presidente statunitense nel dopoguerra a non aver iniziato una guerra anzi ad averne finita una, l'Afghanistan, con quella ritirata in pochi giorni rocambolesca.
Del resto gli Stati Uniti hanno sempre fatto cosi', soprattutto i democratici, iniziano le guerre che poi tocca ai repubblicani terminare.
Alla fine fuggono sempre lasciando gli “alleati” in braghe di tela, e' successo in Vietnam, parzialmente in Korea, appunto in Afghanistan, coi Curdi, nella baia dei porci a Cuba, ed ora con l'Ucraina giusto per fare i primi esempi che mi vengono in mente.
Sono entrati nella seconda guerra mondiale soltanto per l'attacco
giapponese altrimenti avrebbero volentieri lasciato inglesi e Sovietici a vedersela col baffetto alemanno.
Quindi se dovesse vincere Trump, ripeto, vedo un distacco dalle faccende europee, in quel caso il nostro paese, una sorta di cameriere a gettone, rimarrebbe senza lavoro.
Se invece dovessero vincere i democratici le cose cambierebbero poco, probabilmente ci sarebbe un graduale disimpegno in Ucraina e poco altro, almeno riferito all'Europa.
Punterebbero all'allagamento della Nato cercando questa volta di pestare un po' meno i piedi ai russi se davvero non vogliono una nuova guerra mondiale.

A few days ago I published a piece on the American primaries of the Republican Party.
In the unfortunate but possible hypothesis that the next US president is Trump again rather than Biden again, what difference could there be for Europe and Cuba?
Republicans are generally more isolationist, "America First" is their creed, consequently if Trump were to win, there could be less interference in Europe than in the last 4 years.
Trump doesn't give a damn about the rest of the world, it's no coincidence that he was the only US president in the post-war period not to have started a war but rather to have finished one, Afghanistan, with that daring retreat in a few days.
After all, the United States has always done this, especially the Democrats, they start wars which then it is up to the Republicans to end.
In the end they always flee leaving the "allies" in canvas trousers, it happened in Vietnam, partially in Korea, in Afghanistan, with the Kurds, in the Bay of Pigs in Cuba, and now with Ukraine just to give the first examples that come to mind.
They entered World War II only for the attack
otherwise they would have willingly left the English and Soviets to deal with the German moustache.
So if Trump were to win, I repeat, I see a detachment from European affairs, in which case our country, a sort of paid waiter, would be left without a job.
However, if the Democrats were to win, things would change little, there would probably be a gradual disengagement in Ukraine and little else, at least in relation to Europe.
They would aim to flood NATO, trying this time to step on the Russians' toes a little less if they really don't want a new world war.
