Not All that Glitters is Gold
A couple of weeks ago I published a post about my decision to start using a bot on Splinterlands.
Since the post sparked the interest of a few users, I thought it would be a good idea to proceed with a new update, in order to see if the bot's perfomance has changed in any way or if more or less its results have been stable.
I'll start by pointing out that this season, sadly, I had to skip about 6/7 days of playtime, since I didn't have access to my pc for about a week: this inevitably skews the final result, but, despite the fewer days, I think we can still come to some conclusions.
If you're wondering how, it's quickly said: this season the bot has performed considerably poorly, if not terrible! And the problem was not the fewer days of game time, but rather the fact that, for some reason, it failed to reach the Silver League.
Indeed, already the Bronze League proved to be no little challenge, with our little robot struggling to at least scrape together a few chests.
To what could this be due? I honestly have no idea, although surely skipping half of the season - and furthermore the middle days, which are the easier ones - did not help, but still there is no doubt that some other factors also had an impact overall... if anybody has any ideas I'm listening!
Does this thus end my adventure? Of course not!
While it is indeed true that the results I got were - let's face it - bad, it's equally true that I wouldn't have played anyway and, therefore, every single card or SPS I got is still a gain that I would have otherwise lost.
Of course, I would like to believe that in the upcoming season the rewards gained will be more in line with the previous ones, and not with these, but, even if this won't the case, something is still better than nothing.
Moreover, this also motivates me to keep looking around to see if somewhere exists some even more efficient solutions, possibly always free or with a really low cost ( the ideal would be to be able to pay using a part of the rewards earned): so far I haven't seen anything interesting, but this season has definitely spurred me to look a little more carefully... as the saying goes: not all evil comes to harm :)

Non è Tutto Oro Quel che Luccica
Un paio di settimane fa ho pubblicato un post a proposito della mia decisione di iniziare ad utilizzare un bot su Splinterlands.
Dato che il post ha suscitato l'interesse di qualche utente, ho pensato che fosse una buona idea procedere con un nuovo aggiornamento, così da vedere se la perfomance del bot sia cambiata in qualche modo o se più o meno i suoi risultati si siano mantenuti stabili.
Inizio con il precisare che questa stagione, purtroppo, ho dovuto saltare circa 6/7 giorni di gioco, dato che non ho avuto accesso al mio pc per circa una settimana: ciò falsa inevitabilmente il risultato finale, ma, nonostante i giorni in meno, penso che comunque qualche conclusione la possiamo raggiungere.
Se vi state chiedendo come, è presto detto: in questa stagione il bot ha ottenuto risultati decisamente mediocri, per non dire pessimi! Ed il problema non sono stati i giorni di gioco in meno, quanto il fatto che, per qualche motivo, lo stesso non è riuscito a raggiungere la Lega Argento.
Anzi, già la Lega Bronzo si è rivelata un ostacolo non da poco, con il nostro piccolo robottino che si è affannato per cercare quantomeno di racimolare qualche scrigno.
A cosa può essere dovuto ciò? Onestamente non ne ho idea, anche se sicuramente saltare metà stagione - e per di più i giorni centrali, che sono quelli più tranquilli - non ha aiutato, ma comunque non ci sono dubbi che nel complesso abbia inciso anche qualche altro elemento... se qualcuno avesse idee sono tutto orecchie!
Finisce qui perciò la mia avventura? Naturalmente no!
Se infatti è vero che i risultati ottenuti sono stati - ammettiamolo - pessimi, è altrettanto vero che io in ogni caso non avrei giocato e, perciò, ogni singola carta o SPS ottenuto è comunque un guadagnato che altrimenti avrei perso.
Certo, mi piace pensare che nella prossima stagione le ricompense ottenute saranno più in linea con le precedenti, e non con queste, ma, anche ove ciò non dovesse avvenire, poco è pur sempre meglio di niente.
Tutto ciò inoltre mi stimola anche a guardarmi attorno per vedere se da qualche parte esista una qualche soluzione ancora più efficiente, magari sempre gratuita o caratterizzata da un costo veramente basso (l'ideale sarebbe poter pagare utilizzando una parte delle ricompense ottenute): per ora non ho visto nulla di interessante, ma questa stagione mi ha sicuramente stimolato a cercare con un po' più di attenzione... come dice il proverbio: non tutto il male viene per nuocere :)
