Journal Paper Types

Recently I've been digging into the varoud types of paper which can be found in journals. I'm not talking about paper thickness, although is something to be said for how thick your paper is and the type of ink you are using to write your journal entries.

I'm talking about what the paper is made of. Traditionally it would be made of wood pulp. A tree is cut down and turned in fresh sheets of paper. However, wood pulp is not the only paper game in town. Not by a long shot. There are papers made from hemp, bamboo, and even stone!

Yes, you read that right. There are stone paper journals. Crazy, right?

Hemp and bamboo paper make sense. Plus they grow at a faster rate than a tree. So more sustainable and faster producing. But paper made from stone?! Who was the first person that thought, "Hey that stone on the ground sure would make a great sheet of paper."

Well they did and now we have stone paper that is water resistant. So I guess if you like to journa in the bubble bath, then a stone journal is for you.
