Hello everyone and welcome to my blog and welcome again to another another wonderful weitijg prompt organized by the hardworking leaders of this community. “If you get the chance to get back to high school, what will you do differently?”. As students and also speaking from experience there are some things i wished i had done differently in school. This theme gives me the opportunity to finally talk about them.
To begin with, Senior high school plays a very important role in shaping our future. Good choices affect us positively whiles our negative choices also affect as in a bad way. During my time in high school, i was kind of a book worm student. I didn’t want to associate myslef in anything out of the academic work. Other school activities like sports(Table Tennis, Basketball and football) Debate and drama, Entertainment performances among others. All i knew was i study and pass my exams. But thats not what high school is all about, not participating in these activities limited my exposure which could have possibly lead to me discovering of my talent. Who knows i would have been a very good Basketball player or maybe one of the best Tennis ball player. But now i will never know. Participating in such activities is something i would have taken very serious.
My choice of friends is also something i would have done differently. There is this saying “Show me your friend and i will show you your character”. High school especially the boardinf schools you get to meet a lot of people from different backgrounds and characters. Friendship at high schools can be a building blcok to ones social life. They can also serve as a hindrance to one’s development. At high school i spent a lot of time with my fair share of “bad” friends who instead of encouraging you to go to class, they end up pursuing you to join them at the cafe. Given a second chance, i would choice wisely the kind of friends i mingle myslef with.
In High School, especially in class I’ve always followed the crowd. When it comes to group discussions, i was always the guy that will keep mute and watch others do all the hard work. Then i taught i was being wise or something now i have come to realize how important that was. Asking questions in class, participating in group discussions, picking up roles in role-play in school trains and boost your confidence levels. This is something i would do differently if i could travel back in time to my high school days.
In conclusion, we’ve all got some things that we wished we did differently in high school. All i can say is we still got time to work on them. And hopefully it can shape our lives for the best. Thank to you once again for organizing this writing prompt. Thank you and see you on the next one.
