I'm posting these photos today as a follow up to yesterday's post because of the serenity and timelessness that emanates from this place that makes you feel lost, just like the boat I showed you yesterday.
But probably also because of the situation in Florida right now. As a counter situation. I know people who say: "Better to live poor but in a "safe" place" (whatever that means, because I don't think a poor place can ever be safe.)
But how safe can a coastline always be? I don't think that what I'm showing you either showed up as such with last year's floods or the annual high number of drownings.
And yet, here I have photographed it as calm, safe and reassuring.
God save the people of Florida!

Soul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you. |
