Good morning my Pukumundo family.
I'm super excited to be posting in this amazing community for the first time and for this week Singing voice (week 42), I will be doing the cover of the song Return to sender by Elvis Presley. Elvis is a legendary musician as no one does it like him. His style is unique and his Rock and roll is amazing. This song was created to suit his style and with his voice, swinging body and finger snapping, he created a masterpiece out of this song.
This song happens to be my favourite of his due to its rhythms and most especially the lyrics. It's a recount of a man who had an argument with his lover and is writing an apology letter to her. Unfortunately she kept retuning the letter back through the post man and this guy wasn't too happy about it. He kept sending the letter to him and finally he concluded that he will take the letter and put it in her hands by himself which to me is the best decision all along. The way this story is being told in the song is just so catchy that you won't know when you will start swinging your body and sing along. For my cover, I used my fingers snapping to create the beat and I hope you enjoy the song.
LYRICS
Return to sender
Return to sender
I gave a letter to the postman
He put it his sack
Bright in early next morning
He brought my letter back
She wrote upon it
Return to sender, address unknown
No such number, no such zone
We had a quarrel, a lovers' spat
I write I'm sorry but my letter keeps coming back
So then I dropped it in the mailbox
And sent it special D
Bright in early next morning
It came right back to me
She wrote upon it
Return to sender, address unknown
No such person, no such zone
This time I'm gonna take it myself
And put it right in her hand
And if it comes back the very next day
Then I'll understand the writing on it
Return to sender, address unknown
No such number, no such zone
Return to sender
Return to sender
Return to sender
Return to sender
ESPANOL
LETRA
