We Bury Kings Under Car Parks You Know - Monomad Challenge

Hail to the Hive!

We are currently moored near Castle Gardens in Leicester. Now you may have heard about them finding King Richard the 3rd buried under a car lark here in recent times and it kind of sums the place up.

It wasn’t, or shouldn’t have been, and Indiana Jones style adventure as there were some bloody obvious clues.

Number 1. He was buried near King Richard Road. Errr hello.

Number 2. There was a bloody stone plaque on the bridge close by that actually said that his remains lay nearby. Now this was mostly due to a story about his remains being dug up and thrown into the River Soar which has no proven to not be true, but nevertheless, his remains were nearby.

Number 3. History recorded that he had been buried in the church in that site ( no longer there).

You have to love Leicester. The city of the underdog.

So it couldn’t and shouldn’t have taken hundreds of years to join the dots but when they did the sarcophagus had a big blooming “R” on it just to make it painfully obvious to the hard of thinking that it was indeed King Richard the 3rd.

I am proud the be a Lestafarian and prouder still that we lose our Kings under car parks!
