Hail to the Hive!

Well I think our recent visit to a local Beer Festval taught us a valuable lesson. Don't go on the last day, there's not mush left. The photo below pretty much sums up how I felt, nearly all the barrels have a 'SOLD OUT' sign on them.

Despite my disappointment we did manage to find a few good beers and aside from the Beer Festival post itself I also recognised the #monomad opportunities with the way everything was set up and thanks to the wonderful place that is #Hive I have almost offset the cost of this slightly disappointing venture.

I was more relieved than excited when I found some IPA's left, hidden amongst the unlabbeled and sold out signs. I think they had run out of SOLD OUT signs and just removed the labels from some of the barrels.

Yayyyyyy for Exmoor ales!

The Maltings pub opposite the festival saved our day to be honest. We knew we could rely on them and despite all the empty barrels outside they had plenty in reserve and as always a great selection. Bar staff were way nicer too!

Note to self, 'go to beer festivals on opening day in future'
