Hail to the Hive!
I was wandering around Pondicherry yesterday, got a little lost and just decided to roll with it. Turns out it was a good move as I found some interesting stuff to photograph, buy and consume. As you do.
While wandering down one particularly narrow street I came across a purveyor of the shiny shiny. And it was a sight to behold. I had to go in. Well you would have to wouldn't you?
So as I was wandering around looking at sruff and taking shots I decided I couldn't very well just wander around and photograph everything and not purchase anything so I decided to look a little deeper.
As I wandered around I saw some coffee/ tea looking shizzle and thought hang on I think I know what I could get. The moka pot myself and Milly have on the boat is a little small and we are in the market for a larger one so I set about seeing if among ll this shiny shiny there could possibly be a shiny gem of a type of moka pot. Surely it's possible.
Everyone was very friendly and trying to be helpful but there was a language barrier and my Hindi only extends to a lot of swearing that my childhood friends in Leicester taught me. It wasn't going to be useful.
But with smiles, friendliness and hand signals and then narrowing it down to where that kind of shiny shiny was located I finally struck gold. Well not gold but shiny stainless steel anyway. Jackpot. No wait, COFFEE POT!
and low and behold lovely monochromatic shiny shiny pics and a coffee pot all shiny shiny as well. Result!
SO I will be using this in a couple of days on the boat and will see how it works out 😝
