It is the tallest in Lviv - 85 meters to the top of the largest of the towers. It was said that rainwater from its roof flowed in one gutter to the Black Sea and the other to the Baltic.

Every time I drive along Pryvokzalna Square in Lviv near the church named after Olga-Elizaveta, I enjoy this masterpiece temple, which reminds me of many mornings and nights when I went to or from the station and this majestic building met and escorted me ...
Among historical masterpieces of Lviv is the Church of St. Elizabeth - a unique Lviv church built in the Neo-Gothic style.

Reading an article by the Kapitoliy travel agency, I learned that there is an observation deck of the Church of Elizabeth - the only one in Lviv, which is located on the tower of the church. Until 2014, the church was used only for its intended purpose, but after restoration, the church is finally open to tourists. Including its observation deck.

You can climb to a height of 55 meters, and the highest spire reaches 90 meters. This platform is the only observation balcony of the central dome. You can go up for free from 12 to 17, and if you wish you can leave a symbolic donation. So in the near future I want to visit this majestic church again, which reminds me of my morning trips to the station, and climb the observation deck!

Elizabeth Church is famous for its romantic history. In 1903, longing for his beloved wife Sisi, the Emperor of Austria-Hungary Franz Joseph I began construction. Elizabeth was the only true and tragic love of the monarch, despite the fact that he became famous as a lover of beautiful women. But in 1898, his beloved was killed, and the church-monument in her honor was laid by the emperor himself.
The temple was built for 8 years under the direction of architect Theodore Talovsky.

The wife of Emperor Franz Joseph - Duchess Elizabeth of Bavaria, who was Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary, who was
the most, without exaggeration, beautiful woman of the XIX century!
But, perhaps, the most unhappy ... because her whole life was woven of family tragedies and troubles, misunderstanding of family and friends, months of travel, more like an escape from reality and ceremonial conventions of the yard! And how worthy it was for the emperor to build this majestic grand temple in her honor...
