The Texture of Coal in Sunlight

Hello. When you think about the journey this piece of matter has taken... Coal is a material that has been forming over millions of years. The process began in ancient swamps around 300 million years ago during the Carboniferous period. Plant remains, buried underground, slowly transformed into coal under the influence of intense pressure and temperature. This process took millions of years, yet this particular piece of coal may have only spent a few decades under the open sky since it was extracted by human hands. Such time spans seem distant and almost unreal to us.

This specimen may have been mined from one of Ukraine's coal basins, such as the Donetsk or Lviv-Volyn Basin, where coal holds significant industrial value.

Процес почався в древніх болотах приблизно 300 мільйонів років тому, під час карбону. Рослинні залишки, поховані під землею, поступово перетворювались у вугілля під впливом високого тиску і температури. Цей процес зайняв мільйони років, але саме цей шматок вугілля, можливо, був під відкритим небом лише кілька десятиліть, відколи його видобули людські руки. Такі часові проміжки здаються нам далекими і майже нереальними.
Цей зразок, можливо, було видобуто в одному з українських вугільних басейнів, таких як Донецький або Львівсько-Волинський, де вугілля має велике промислове значення.
