Photographing the street for me has always been much more than producing a pretty picture. There's a feeling that's hard to explain when I walk through the city without knowing exactly what I'll find, just letting my gaze follow everything that happens around me. The street has movement, silence, chaos, memory, and truth. Each place I pass through carries some detail that deserves to be observed more calmly, even if many people cross that same path every day without noticing anything. That's precisely what keeps me hooked on street photography, this possibility of transforming simple moments into something that lasts.
Fotografar a rua pra mim sempre foi muito mais do que produzir uma imagem bonita. Existe uma sensação difícil de explicar quando eu saio caminhando pela cidade sem saber exatamente o que vou encontrar, apenas deixando o olhar acompanhar tudo que acontece ao redor. A rua tem movimento, tem silêncio, tem caos, tem memória e tem verdade. Cada lugar por onde eu passo carrega algum detalhe que merece ser observado com mais calma, mesmo que muita gente atravesse aquele mesmo caminho todos os dias sem perceber nada. É justamente isso que me prende na fotografia de rua, essa possibilidade de transformar momentos simples em algo que permanece.

When I'm photographing, I feel as if the city speaks through the small details. A wall marked by time, a light piercing through smoke, a person standing waiting for the bus, someone crossing the street distractedly, the worn concrete, the wires in the sky, the shops opening early, the shadows at the end of the afternoon—all of this creates an atmosphere that only exists in that instant. And the craziest thing is that no moment repeats itself in the same way. The street changes all the time. The same corner can carry a completely different energy depending on the time of day, the rain, the light, or the people passing by.
Quando estou fotografando, sinto como se a cidade falasse através dos pequenos detalhes. Um muro marcado pelo tempo, uma luz atravessando a fumaça, uma pessoa parada esperando o ônibus, alguém atravessando a rua distraído, o concreto desgastado, os fios no céu, os comércios abrindo cedo, as sombras no final da tarde, tudo isso cria uma atmosfera que só existe naquele instante. E o mais louco é que nenhum momento se repete da mesma forma. A rua muda o tempo inteiro. A mesma esquina pode carregar uma energia completamente diferente dependendo do horário, da chuva, da luz ou das pessoas que passam por ali.

I really like this idea of capturing everyday life in a genuine way, without trying to force anything. The photos end up emerging naturally, as I walk, observe, and feel the environment. Often, the image isn't just in what appears, but in the feeling that the scene conveys. Some days the city seems heavy, fast-paced, and noisy. At other times it seems silent, almost still, as if it were breathing slowly. And photographing ends up being a way of preserving these atmospheres, as if each click freezes not only a scene, but also the energy of that moment.
Eu gosto muito dessa ideia de registrar o cotidiano de uma forma verdadeira, sem tentar forçar nada. As fotos acabam surgindo no fluxo, enquanto eu caminho, observo e sinto o ambiente. Muitas vezes a imagem não está apenas no que aparece, mas na sensação que aquele cenário transmite. Tem dias em que a cidade parece pesada, acelerada e barulhenta. Em outros momentos ela parece silenciosa, quase parada, como se estivesse respirando devagar. E fotografar acaba sendo uma forma de guardar essas atmosferas, como se cada clique congelasse não só uma cena, mas também a energia daquele momento.

Much of my inspiration comes precisely from the streets I frequent, the places I constantly pass through, and the common scenes that are part of real life. I believe there is great beauty in simple things, especially when they carry identity. The street shows the truth without makeup. It shows the marks of time, of people, and of the stories that have passed through there. And perhaps that's what makes me continue photographing, this desire to see meaning in things that would normally be ignored.eously. The camera became a way to freeze these moments before they disappeared into the flow of the city.
Grande parte das minhas referências vem justamente das ruas que frequento, dos lugares por onde passo constantemente e das cenas comuns que fazem parte da vida real. Eu acredito que existe muita beleza nas coisas simples, principalmente quando elas carregam identidade. A rua mostra a verdade sem maquiagem. Ela mostra marcas do tempo, das pessoas e das histórias que passaram por ali. E talvez seja isso que me faça continuar fotografando, essa vontade de enxergar significado em coisas que normalmente seriam ignoradas.

Each photograph ends up becoming a piece of the journey, a fragment of memory. When I look at some images after a while, I can remember exactly the feeling of that day, the atmosphere, the sounds of the city, the way the light hit the ground, and even the state of my mind at that moment. Street photography has a lot of that for me; it's not just about showing a place, but about conveying presence. It's like creating a record of the connection between me, the city, and everything that happens in it.
Cada fotografia acaba virando um pedaço do caminho, um fragmento de memória. Quando olho algumas imagens depois de um tempo, consigo lembrar exatamente da sensação daquele dia, do clima, do som da cidade, do jeito que a luz batia no chão e até do estado da minha mente naquele momento. A fotografia de rua tem muito disso pra mim, ela não serve apenas pra mostrar um lugar, mas pra transmitir presença. É como criar um registro da conexão entre eu, a cidade e tudo que acontece nela.

Photographing the street is about being attentive. It's about walking without haste, observing more, feeling more, and understanding that there's always a story unfolding, even in the quietest scenes. Because the city never stops, and within that hustle and bustle, there are small moments that deserve to be seen, felt, and remembered.
fotografar a rua é sobre estar atento. É caminhar sem pressa, observar mais, sentir mais e entender que sempre existe alguma história acontecendo, mesmo nas cenas mais silenciosas. Porque a cidade nunca para, e dentro dessa correria existem pequenos instantes que merecem ser vistos, sentidos e lembrados.
