it was a gray november day on the skagerrak coast of norway
i followed the coastal trail to a rocky cove called Kloppsandbukta
it is a popular spot known for the large potholes formed by ancient glaciers
but this time of year there was nobody else around
i became more interested in this old wooden rowboat that was wrecked on the beach
and the variety of smoothed stones of sizes, mineral content and places of origin
the glacier had gathered them from amazingly distant places and moved them around until they ended up here
not just on the beach but much more recently in the boat
it's a shame to see such a nice old boat all wrecked like this but it didn't stop me from finding different shots of it. i took this photo in color and then minimized the saturation so there is just a hint left
and the surprising variety of washed-up seaweed
