Today is #monochromemonday so I decided to take some closeup photography. This is also my entry for the #monomad challenge!

The charger for my SLR camera has been missing for quite some time but today I finally found it !

Since the weather outside is pretty gloomy I figured it was better to focus on things inside my house. Luckily my wife is pretty crazy when it comes to decoration and she likes buying these dried plants. Turns out they are great for black and white photography! Just as I snapped the above shots the sun came out and it creates a very big contrast with the background, allowing the small details to come out.

Here is another type of plant. It’s also white in colour so perfect for monochrome as it gives a lot of contrast.

As I continued looking I also found this cotton plant. Pretty amazing plant really. I remember the first time I saw it in real life. It was when I was bicycling outside of Shanghai and I came up on a cotton field. I didn’t know what it was at first and finally I asked a local walking by that kindly pointed at my clothes and explained that it’s the same material which your y shirt is made of.
