Farmers making hay - Romania

This is my entry for #monomad challenge by @monochromes

Today I will show you a family farmers during an ordinary work day, in a field near Botiza town, in Maramures district, Romania.

Very hot day.
We stopped the car near a field, watching some farmers at work. We decided to go inside the field to document how hard is their work.

The technique, very old, consists to put a wooden skeleton (a pole or a fence) and to amass hay all around it, to build many big clusters.

In Italy is rare to find this technique: now it is all made by machine... There was still a bit of poetry here, they follow nowadays a more tiring activity, due to the lack of modernity but they have also a more harmonic respect for natural time and law.

The older man was athletics and skinny, and he still had a extraordinary force!
And he had funny climbing proudly the clusters!

All family helped to make piles of hay:

And here some portraits:

I shoted in black and white to make pictures out of time.

Pictures taken with Sony Alpha 7iii and Nikon D800 camera.
