It is sometimes very difficult to get a smile from the people who come to our free admission sessions. Let's say that I understand the male models because the almost neutral face they show reinforces their masculinity in some way, although of course, smiling knows no gender. But with young women, it is difficult in some cases. At our events young people appear - and disappear - very frequently who want to take photos and smile a lot behind the camera, but when it is their turn to pose, they completely change the way they show themselves. What I do in those cases is either reinforce that strength of character that they express, or I talk to their friends who are waiting behind me, trying to make them complicit in the little that I have to say to establish a common thread and from there, try to embroider something that brings some acceptable result. This girl smiled at the end of her shift in front of my camera. Finally!
Muy difícil a veces sacarle una sonrisa a las personas que acuden a nuestras sesiones de libre entrada. Digamos que entiendo a los modelos hombres porque el rostro casi neutro que muestran refuerza su masculinidad de alguna manera, aunque por supuesto, sonreír no conoce género. Pero con las jóvenes, vaya que es difícil en algunos casos. En nuestros eventos aparecen -y desaparecen- con mucha frecuencia jóvenes que desean hacerse fotos y sonríen mucho detrás de cámara, pero cuando les toca posar, cambian totalmente el modo de expresarse. Lo que hago en esos casos es, o reforzar esa fuerza de carácter que expresan, o hablo con sus amistades que las esperan detrás de mi, tratando de hacerles ser cómplices de lo poco que tenga que decir para tender un hilo en común y a partir de ahí, tratar de bordar algo que traiga algún aceptable resultado. Esta muchacha sonrió al final de su turno delante de mi cámara. Al fin!
