NextGen Edutainment Theme Park

I have been planning to bring my kids for a picnic at the beach for quite some time now. Unfortunately, it is rainy season in Malaysia right now. Doing outdoor activities is quite limited in this rainy season.

After having a discussion with my wife, we decided to bring our kids to Nextgen which is the largest indoor family edutainment theme park. Apparently, this theme park is the largest in Malaysia.

The concept of the theme park is educational entertainment where visitors can play and have fun while learning. The theme park is located inside the One Utama shopping mall.

Usually, from my house to One Utama will take around 30 minutes of driving. However, ever since the new DASH highway was opened, the driving time has shortened to 15 minutes. But I need to pay MYR 4 for the highway toll fee.

One thing I have learned about One Utama is, whenever I go there I would skip level B1 and straight away head to level B2 or B3 basement parking. It is a waste of time trying to find a parking spot at level B1.

After finding a parking spot, we went to have lunch first at Pizza Hut. Then we continue our walk to NextGen which is located at level 2 (old Wing) of One Utama shopping mall.

By the time we arrived at the theme park ticketing counter, the queue was not that long. Within 5 minutes of queuing, we managed to get the ticket. Since it is the weekend, the ticket was priced at MYR 55 for adults and MYR 45 for children under 12 years old.

The ticket allows you to have access to various types of attractions such as the arcade zone, family karaoke, rock climbing, kids and adult playground, and sports trampoline.

The entrance ticket is in wristband bracelet form. You need to scan the ticket at the theme park's auto-gate. You can enter and exit the park as my times as you want. The ticket for the theme park that you purchase is valid for the whole day.

The theme park is 45,000 square feet large and has 4 floors. There are five (5) zones inside the theme park which is the (i) Entertainment zone, (ii) Experience zone, (iii) Engagement zone, (iv) Empowerment zone, and (v) Enrichment zone.

I would suggest coming early to the theme park. Their operation hour would start from 10 am until 10 pm. Overall experience, I would say this theme park and its attraction is the best place for families and is suitable for children, teenagers to adults to play.

We spent approximately 3 hours inside the theme park. Both of my daughters were really tired from all the activities. They fell asleep inside the car while heading back home.
