A Day of Family and Tradition in North Bali

Today was a day full of tradition and family as we headed to North Bali, the hometown of my wife’s family. The occasion? A special celebration for my sister-in-law, who is getting married.

The day began early at my parents-in-law's house, where preparations were already underway. Tables were laden with drinks and food, and chairs were set up to accommodate the many guests expected throughout the day. The atmosphere was lively, with relatives and friends helping out and sharing in the excitement. It was a beautiful display of Balinese hospitality and community spirit.

In the afternoon, we set out to visit my sister-in-law's husband’s family in a nearby village, just a fifteen-minute drive away. The warm welcome we received there was heartwarming. The family greeted us with smiles, offered drinks, and served us delicious food. It was a joyful reunion, filled with congratulations and good wishes for the couple.

After spending some time there, we returned to my parents-in-law's house, where the ceremony was still in full swing. In fact, even more relatives had arrived, each bringing their blessings and congratulations for the wedding. The house was filled with chatter and laughter as one by one, people approached the family to share their joy.

Tomorrow, the celebrations continue with the priest's blessing ceremony, which will officially unite the couple as husband and wife according to our traditions.

Stay tuned for more updates as we experience the next part of this wonderful journey!
