Sunday of August 13, 2023 is the day of another blissful day. My maternal grandmother was celebrating her 96th birthday in the church. They had their special party and pack lunch foods to all the people around.My grandmother was sick last few months and we thought of bag sign on that moment. The time I called her, she wished me to come home while she is still alive but she understood for my absence again. I am the eldest among granddaughters. She loves me so much.

Because I am far away from her, video calling was the key to greet. She knew why I am still away from the family. I knew she prayed for me all the time.
I greeted her with my video call in messenger with my Aunt. I hope that I will see her next year during my vacation.
Short Story of my Lola
She is native from Leyte but her parent was from Bohol too, another town from our town. They grew in Leyte. My grandfather met her in Davao as she was a dress maker. She is older that my grandfather. They have 8 children, 4 girls and 4 boys. My mother was the second to the eldest among siblings. My mother got married too young at 15. I am the oldest among grandchildren.My grandfather died when he was 53. My grandmother told me that therevwas someone who wanted to get marry but she refused. She is open to me than to her children. She has a lot of struggle before. But she is spiritually guided woman.The secret of her life is not eating pork and chicken but eat eggs and cow's/carabao's meat one a month. She is more on vegetables.
I am so happy that my cousin from New Zealand came home for my grandmother. Last year she was sick. My grandmother was the one who raised my cousin because his parent was separated. My Uncle and my grandmother became a big part to my cousin's growth and became an Engr and got married to a nurse who work in NZ. Last time talking with my lola, she told me that she wants to see Taffy and his daughter Ali and wife. Birthday wishes granted and they are now happy at home. I am thinking of them. My cousin told me to spend vacation so we could see each other but time is too rough and though. God knows it and the reason behind.
